October 1st is actually going to feel more like early September! Temperatures today will be warming up thanks to a southerly breeze. Highs will likely top out in the low and mid-70s today. And with today's warm up, we'll also be seeing dewpoints climb which will make it feel muggy later!

The sunrise from the top of Mount Mansfield was stunning above the clouds!🌄 But those low clouds just below the summit kept most of us from seeing the sunrise this morning. We'll hold onto the clouds again today, but we should see some more breaks of sunshine than yesterday!

Here's your First Alert to potentially frosty weather returning next week!🥶 Temperatures could be stuck in the 50s early next week, it's possible some usual cooler spots could even stay in the 40s! And those overnight lows could be very frosty, even in the valleys.

Another cool, cloudy day today ahead of a warm up later in the week!☁️ For the day today most of us will be in the upper 50s and low 60s, similar to what we had yesterday. Then over the next couple of days we'll be warmingup again! High temps on Thursday will reach the low to mid-70s for most of us.

TRAFFIC ALERT⚠️ One lane is closed on I-89 SB in the area of Exit 15 due to a crash. Delays are being reported back to Exit 17. Plan for slow traffic and delays if your morning commute takes you through this area. Drive with care!

It's going to be a wet and cool Monday🌧️ Make sure to grab your rain jacket or umbrella before heading out the door this morning! This weekend's nor'easter is still bringing us some lingering showers and clouds today. The showers and clouds will also keep us cooler in the upper 50s to low 60s.

The strongest winds with this upcoming nor'easter will track across southern New England, but we are keeping an eye on the western slopes of the southern Green Mountains for wind gusts up to 25-40+ mph💨

Bundle up and look north tonight, the aurora could be visible tonight🌌 As always with forecasting the aurora, these solar storms can be fickle and seeing them is never guaranteed. BUT, there has to be a chance to see them to see them👀

A Frost Advisory has been issued for the areas shaded in blue! Most of us will have morning temperatures in the 30s to low 40s. Take steps to protect frost sensitive plants before temperatures drop tonight! The ADKs, NEK, and northern NH are not included because the growing season has already ended.

Starting the first full day of fall with a chill in the air!🍂 It's a frosty morning with most of us waking up to temps in the 30s to low 40s. And we're expecting another frosty morning tomorrow. But we'll have plenty of sunshine for today and tomorrow with seasonable temps in the mid and upper 60s!

A Frost Advisory has been issued for the Champlain Valley, St. Lawrence Valley, central Green Mountains, Lamoille, Washington & Orange County Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. If you still have frost sensitive plants outside, cover them up or bring them inside tonight.

I-89 Traffic Update⚠️ I-89 SB between Exit 16 and Exit 14 has now REOPENED! The one lane closure on I-89 NB is also open again. It may take a while for traffic flow to return to normal, but at least the interstate is no longer closed!

The multi-vehicle crash on I-89 isn't just impacting I-89! Traffic is backed up in the area of Exit 16 and Exit 15. I-89 SB is fully closed between Exit 16 and Exit 14. It will likely take a while for traffic flow to return to normal so plan for long delays in Colchester, Winooski, and Burlington.

Very slow-moving traffic along I-89 due to a multi-vehicle crash! Here's what it looks like at Exit 16 looking north, the southbound traffic is pretty much at a standstill. And the view of I-89 southbound at Exit 14 is also very heavy.

Some areas of frost are possible early Tuesday! The usual cooler spots could have a bit of frost this morning with temps in the 30s. Away from those cool spots we're mostly in the low to mid-40s. Then with plenty of sunshine emerging today we'll warm up into low and mid-60s!

Feeling very fall-like as summer comes to an end☀️➡️🍁 The Autumnal Equinox and official start to fall occurs tomorrow evening! But it's already going to feel like fall today. In fact, with temperatures only in the mid and upper 50s for most of us today, it will feel more like mid to late October.

Temps this morning are mostly in the 40s to low 50s with some lingering clouds. But clouds clear today leaving us with mostly clear skies tonight. Temps will drop quickly with mostly clear skies and most of us will be in the 30s to low 40s tomorrow morning. Then Wednesday also looks frosty to start!

Drought has snuck back into New England! Fortunately for the time being, the 90 day rainfall deficit isn't too hard to recover from. For context, last fall's drought saw a deficit between 6 to 12 inches regionwide🌵/🌧️

Sunshine returns today and sticks around at least for tomorrow☀️ Despite the sun, it's going to be quite cool. Frost is possible early Saturday with temps in the 30s to low 40s. Then for the afternoon highs only reach the low 60s. Then clouds and showers arrive for Sunday afternoon.

It's a foggy Friday!🌫️ But high above the fog, the view from the top of Mount Mansfield is stunning to start the day! As the sky is starting to brighten, we can see the fog at the surface. That fog will lift out later this morning leaving us with a nice, mostly sunny day to end the work week!

Our models are starting to agree as we get closer to Sunday☔ It's looking more and more likely that we'll have some wet weather for Sunday. The best chance for steady rain will be across southern Vermont. Northern areas are still a bit more uncertain, but plan for at least a few showers!

TRAFFIC ALERT⚠️ The Exit 16 diverging diamond intersection is now OPEN! The new traffic pattern shifts vehicles onto the left side of the road to make it easier to make left turns onto I-89. Drive with care! Delays are possible in this area, but so far this morning traffic is flowing smoothly!

Showers possible today, especially south!🌦️ A couple showers will likely roll through this afternoon with the best chance for rain from route 4 down through southern Vermont. However, we can't rule out a few quick spotty showers in northern areas this afternoon!
