2017's Polygondwanaland ambitiously sought to outdo the entire discography amid production alongside four other albums, and succeeded. Clean, proggy, and composed with deep polyrhythms, it is also notable for its copyright-free release that led to the Official Bootlegger program.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Polygondwanaland album cover artwork. It is a mysterious illustration featuring striking use of primary colours red, yellow, and blue set against darker black and brown elements. It blends snippets of cinematic scenes with 2D symbolic elements centred around a snaking tunnel that recedes far out into the background of space.

With a title too long for Bluesky, 2023's Petrodragonic Apocalypse... is then the logical conclusion of King Gizzard doing metal. It is a technical and dense tribute to progressive speed metal showcasing some of the band's best ever musicianship.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation album cover artwork. It is a stark illustration depicting a large lizard in the foreground against an ominous industrial scene with skies of flame and black clouds.

But what if they made metal? 2019's Infest the Rats' Nest is the logical result of King Gizzard's heavier tendencies. Part tribute to thrash and AC/DC, this release also expands the Gizzverse with an intense narrative of Earth escape away from climate catastrophe.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Infest the Rats' Nest album cover artwork. A photograph of a golden stepped plinth, topped by an arch formed out of rat skulls.

The original no-concept leftovers album is 2013's Oddments. Featuring some unused material even from before the formation of the band, the album contains examples of some paths never taken as well as hints of what was to come - all washed over with a lo-fi haze.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Oddments album cover artwork. It is a dense and colourful illustration featuring various mini characters and scenes to create a defining point for Jason Galea's style.

Another eclectic no-concept album is Gumboot Soup. The final album of 2017, it is a mix of familiar and unique styles amassed from material that didn't fit into the previous 4 albums. This is another great diversity showcase that provides several more paths through the discography.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Gumboot Soup album cover artwork. Illustration on a cream background of a parade of musical notes coming from a tipped over gumboot.

Perhaps their most unique record, 2017's Murder Of The Universe is like Nonagon Infinity turned up to 11. It is a dark, noisy, shameless dive into the Gizzverse. With forms of Heavy-Psych and Metal, extensive spoken narration is used in conjunction with vocals to spin an epic tale in three acts.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Murder of the Universe album cover artwork. A dense, green painting that shows an ethereal beast ripping through the fabric of space.

‘Nonagon Infinity opens the door’, this self-mythologising nod to Huxley’s Doors of Perception drops you straight into a new frontier of Heavy-Psych. In some ways the sequel to IIYMF, 2016's Nonagon Infinity was the next big breakthrough and utilises an infinitely looping composition.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Nonagon Infinity album cover artwork . Depicts a similar scene to I'm In Your Mind Fuzz but with a red theme and a large Nonagon imposed in the foreground.

2022's Omnium Gatherum fuses the last of the lockdown isolation songs with their first sessions all back together playing in the same room. It has an eclectic mix of songs that blur the lines between some of their quietest, loudest, oldest and freshest styles. The current jam band era begins here.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - Omnium Gatherum album cover artwork. Reminiscent of Iron Maiden's Power Slave album, it depicts a complex monolithic building in a hazy desert landscape.

The classic first album suggestion is 2014's I'm In Your Mind Fuzz. With Krautrock inspiration, this is the band's first big evolution in songwriting and production quality. Moving confidently between driving and relaxed psych sounds, their first opus also lays the lore foundation for the gizzverse.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard - I'm In Your Mind Fuzz album cover artwork. Depicting a futuristic sci-fi scene with a large ominous hand floating above a castle atop a jagged mountain surrounded by lightning and mysterious guards.

Unbelievable tour! We are so spoiled to have had free live streams of every show, which are now on demand. Seriously has that ever been done before?
