I really wish I had more experience with either game (I only have superficial knowledge of the vrc stuff thanks to Value's amazing write-ups) but I think it'd be an amazing challenge to just see what's possible with what we have now (especially the new basic collections)

Like when setting up my avatar, rather than using contact receivers to trigger an animation when a limb moves in vrc, I can just read the limb angles directly and use that If people start trying to do similar stuff in reso, it'll likely just need to be redesigned from scratch rather than a 1-1 copy

The thing is, a lot specific technical stuff that gets done in vrc is to get around its own limitations, of which resonite has an entirely different set. It might be possible to do things in reso in an entirely different way. Maybe easier, maybe harder. But they can't call he exactly the same

I did see there are nodes to read pixel data from a texture (like a video). Would it be possible to use that to read DMX data? Though to be honest before waiting for custom shaders to do it the VRC way, I wonder if a simple official native node for reading DMX data would suffice

Its honestly been really fun get back into. I've got no skin in the game so picking up the creation toolkit has been a really fun challenge. Really hoping to see more stuff for it as time goes on ^^

I did it! I made bones stiff! :D I finally made progress on StrikePose - a new inhouse IK for Resonite. The solver now supports per-bone stiffness, which produces much smoother results for the solve. Coming soon :3 #Resonite #socialVR #gamedev #indiegame

While that is true, that's kind of just what has to be done. Avatar makers had to learn unity animators or vrcfury once. Learning how to make simple toggles in resonite is just another thing that has to be done It's relatively simple, like vrcfury, but it's still something new to learn

This tbh. Maybe also get some world creators to try porting worlds over using the unity package? But yeah I think avatars is the main thing tbh. I guess just either avatar makers either aren't aware of resonite packages, or aren't interested in making them. But they'd solve this stuff I think

This is probably basic stuff i think but I'm very very new to all this so finding these things out is fun ^^

I'm currently messing around with the new procedural mesh stuff. Using one vertex point per star and I'm able to do loads without a drop in framerate, and I can use vertex colours as well so I should be able to make the brightness of each star dynamic as well Really happy awawaaa

Oh that's a really cool idea!! Right now I'm just doing purely by a max distance (sector count) but yeah most stars are very dim. I'm still working on the displaying side of it and stuff at the moment, but once I make the M-types correctly super dim then I'll probably look into something like that
