Yeah people keep telling me it's pretty much Pinocchio Bloodborne and the Switch 2 version was selling out basically everywhere like 2 days after launch so I had to just go ahead and jump on it

I will say, after playing ome multiple times, it's absolutely one of those machines that's amazing to see and have for the history and because it's so niche but the entertainment value only stretches so far

Oh, on further inspection they haven't gone up as much as I thought It's going back in the "maybe one day" file

The thing I'm still trying to figure out is like...do I need to play through both and how is all the post game stuff even handled now with all the internet connection stuff gone

Like I don't even need a remake or a remaster, I'll take it with the same visuals and the Dreamcast OST lol

The repetative combat sections make it tough to go into the game back to back just to get all the pieces for the narrative. Thankfully I think they've since patched it to make repeat runs way less tedious

Oh yeah, mechanically it's very good I just remembered feeling pretty tired of the sheer amount of encounters it throws at you later in the game Like "I swear, if I geg locked into another fight with these two boss enemies I've already killed like 6 times now, I swear..."

I really welcome the last couple of games exploring and expanding to new locations. We were visiting familiar areas as early as Silent Hill 2, we could only use that one town for so long, you know? I've enjoyed exploring new towns with their own pained and distorted histories

I've got some issues with f (mostly late-game combat) but I have issues with every game in the series lol It still shines when it really needs to and offered some cool and unique spins on SH design traditions all while delivering one of the best stories in the franchise

Also I didn't realize there were so many people that disliked Silent Hill f. I mean yeah, the setting is pretty different but with Team Silent gone for so long, it seems wise to now use the series as a foundation to let new voices to tell new stories

It's also good to see how much of the classic Silent Hill DNA is alive in here too. From the visuals, to the dungeons made of everyday environments to the clever uses of The Otherworld; there's a ton here to chew on. The series is in a good spot right now.

First playthrough is done. Wonderfully crafted and very compelling. I think the main aspect that will be very "make it or break it" is the stealth, as that's something I have very mixed thoughts on but damn, when this game works, it WORKS.

I'm not super far in, I've been busy with stuff but I've been enjoying it a lot. It felt very alien to me at first but the further I get in the more and more "Silent Hill" it feels and the pieces all start fitting together
