This is a sick project I’ve helped put together. Official PR with others on the way, but you heard it here first: $1,000 in cash prizes and a hackathon where you can help advance fusion energy! sophelio.io/fusion-equil...

nice. It would be fun if someone supercharged Swift Charts with an API like matplotlib in python

nice job getting a Mac app out. Recently did the same for one of mine, getting it to feature parity.

Clearly what I need to build is a tool manager for my tools now.

Trying it out! But I don’t want to allow access to contacts. Can I individually add people?

There is something about testing that is an untapped area for AI right now. I wonder if some sort of AI could be baked into the assertions themselves, analyzing videos from simulators to see if the app works well or could work better. That said, absolutely nothing beats me manually testing my apps.

I still wish I could justify the time to work on Vision Pro apps, because they're just magical! Like, part of me says, long-term investment be darned, let's make more awesome things.

Always glad to see folks running models on-device. Especially for sensitive info.

Gatorade will straight up tell you it uses no artificial flavors and the also tell you it’s flavor is “rain berry”

I've done swaps some times. It's a lot of effort, but I'll approach and indie dev and say, hey I've been working on this, can I offer feedback on what you're working on and give a rating/review. Sometimes I'll even find a bug and report and ask if I can review after it's fixed, to keep honest.

For my alarmkit app I have in testing a helper that uses EventKit to make the calendars for the simulator during the tests.

Might be able to find a good balance after getting Ollama up and running and trying a bunch of different models? You'll definitely want to break up your strings into individual objects as well, so that it's not tackling them all at once. Maybe Gemma 4?

Fingers crossed for the more capable models. The more local the better. Hoping the Gemini/gemma google partnerships helps with this.

I’m doing manual testing each time. Or setting my physical device’s time to the future to test reoccurring alarms. Tedious, but hopefully makes the app that much more solid

The very annoying thing about my app Cannot Ignore is that when I'm prepping for a release, I have to make a ton of alarms and wait for them to fire. Real life testing is necessary, but, as it were, annoying. apps.apple.com/us/app/canno... #iOSDev #indiedev #buildinpublic

I was baffled recently when I tried to make a promo code for a paid upfront app too. In the end, I sent the reviewers a TestFlight. It's confusing out there.

On a different level, there is already a lot of bring-your-own-AI from doctors in terms of transcribing patient interviews. Those models have come a long way in the last 5 years, so I hope they're good and mean docs get more quality conversations with patients. Still, uneasy though

Might need to write up the labels themselves. You can create modifiers that conform to protocols and get a lot of control. Like here: developer.apple.com/documentatio... But yeah, out of the box I don't think they match well.
