Used By Jesus This is getting interesting in verses John 8:57-58, Jesus is asked how he had seen Abraham when he’s not even fifty, he replied “Before Abraham was, I Am” When Jesus claims the title of “I Am” everyone listening knows exactly what he means: that he is God(John 10:33).

The statement “I Am That I Am” carries a sense of necessity,simplicity and absolute-ness. God identifies Himself as the self-existent One: the eternal, unique, uncreated God(John 1:1-3).

I Am That I Am Moses had doubt when God ordered him to return to Egypt to lead the Israelites to freedom(Exo 3:10). Asking God who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt(Exo 3:11)?

Obedience is important but knowing the purpose of the regulations given by God. Only by knowing the purpose can a person rightly judge how to apply those laws(John 7:24)

Jesus did not condemn this action going as far as saying their obedience is legitimate. At the same time it’s an example of the exacting lengths the Pharisees went to and imposed on the people to be legalistically perfect. Which made them insensitive to the greater point of those laws.

Hypocrite Is Inconsistent Scribes and Pharisees went to the trouble of giving the required ten percent of the smallest garden crops even tiny herbs requiring the Israelites to tithe their crops including wine, grain and oil(Deut 14:22-29).

Hypocrite Disguises Himself This happens to me almost everyday online. Some hypocrite disguising themselves to be someone they are not. But as the scripture says you shall know them by their fruit. Actions in other words which don’t lie.
