Having now watched the footage and interview two of the members who were there, the amount of armed, masked federal agents surrounding three members of Congress and a mayor outside the ICE facility was totally unnecessary; the only possible reason for it was intentional escalation and intimidation.

Conservatives do that everywhere. In Europe we gladly have the social stuff still, but when shit done by rich people hits the fan those things always get attacked to fix the mess. We need to stop profit-shifting, start taxing huge assets and huge profits on obscure islands. Otherwise we are doomed

If the company denied eligible claims, they could do so by using a vast difference in the power structure. Probably more poor people who couldn't afford lawyers or were to sick to fight back. Clearly the company is above the law applied for those people, they have no voice and no remedy

Die Superreichen haben sich doch erfolgreich als Mittelschicht umdefiniert. Das lustige ist, dass sich große Teile der wahren Mittelschicht lieber mit den Superreichen solidarisieren und nicht merken, dass sie aus deren Sicht quasi genau so arm wie Obdachlose sind.
