Trying to learn #watercolor. So fun, but so hard without natural talent. Made this account to post my paintings so I don't annoy the followers on my main account.

Copying the master, JS Sargent. I was trying so hard to capture the same expression he did. I was not able. But you really learn doing this. #learningwatercolor

Every aspiring watercolorist eventually paints chefs. They are such fun. I wish my middle guy didn't look like he stepped out of a horror movie, and one day I would like to learn to paint hands, but otherwise I'm quite pleased. #learningwatercolor

My friend’s impressive copper collection, and an instructive lesson in values. The original, which seemed a bit blah to me, and what it looked like when I darkened the photo. I need to paint darker! #learningwatercolor
My original watercolor of a bunch of copper pots hanging from a rack. The pots are a kind of goldy color The same painting but with the exposure lowered. The pots now have a lovely warm red glow and the whole painting is just way better.
