Just behind me on my book shelf. Can you believe what I paid for it as a poor student in 1986? (NZD)

Photograph of The Mythical Man-month, a book by Frederick P Brooks Jr, bought at the University Book Shop, Dunedin, 1986, for the princely sum of NZD64

Age yourself with your first computer Sinclair ZX81, for which I paid the princely sum of $229 to the chap who would eventually offer me my first programming job. (First programmed a TRS-80 Level I, owned by trusting student teacher, in 1978, who let us mess about with it during maths classes.)
