Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026I like when people are passionate about character design. I want to leave off with an example that I always like to bring up with Crash Bandicoot cuz it can similarly spark debate. Both choices can have their own justifications, it’s just you who decides in the end what’s best for him! 000
Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026It's by no means a super viral post but for me with a very small following it has the analytics that make me feel like people enjoy what I make. I do appreciate all the comments it got tho cuz a lot of them were civil and engaging. I did get a few trolls/keyboard warriors tho 120
Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026I really don't mind the new design if it's used going forward. Heck, I didn't even touch his spikes that wobble like hair now, which is something people told me I should've edited! I think that's an example where I’m not as a "purist" when it comes to trying to evolve designs. 100
Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Many pointed out their actual issue with it were his pupils being too small. I agree. The first thing that I edited were his eyes and he instantly looked much better. Now… IF the 3D rig allows it, you can easily fix the pupils by scaling them 100
Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Clearly I went too far for some people and looking back I think they could’ve been handled better, but they were things I noticed in the moment. I actually would’ve left his big eyebrows cuz I didn’t notice them until my sister said he looked like a Cro-Magnon 100
Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026Second, I don't hate the new design. I actually think it looks more faithful than reignited's with his tweaked features and color scheme. I was aware that he’s meant to look older hence why I didn't edit the body, only the face. (Actual edits on the next one) 100
Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026First thing's first, I never meant to sound like my edits were better. People do these, especially in cases like this, to show what they love and find interesting about the original designs. But your opinions/tastes are just as valid as mine, I can’t force you to like something. 100
Wary @warydraws.bsky.social · 14/06/2026I posted some edits of the new Spyro design on twitter and I didn't know it would get a lot of attention. I’m posting the follow up thread here if anyone’s interested in that, cuz I found the outcome interesting. It was the first time I got polarizing comments but I kinda liked it #spyrothedragon 1205
