Lead by Lizzy, we are a small group of local birdwatchers. We aim to record 100+ species of birds within 2 miles of Warwick town centre each year. And then drink beer.

What a fantastic bird for number 99! A marsh harrier was spotted over the racecourse by Robert Bailey and Claire Roberts-Owen today. A super shot too! We've been very laid back this year, and are still waiting for bird 100, I wonder what it will be...

We are so close now, with the team on 98 species for the Warwick 100 list so far this year. The chairs are out and I'll pop the wine and beer in the fridge, ready for our celebration drink when we hit the hundred! 😁😁😁😁😁😁 🍾🍻 #warwick100 #warwickbirding #birding

Cracking day for the Warwick 100 today, with a common sandpiper seen by Rick on Kingfisher Pool and a pair of wheatear at the racecourse, spotted by Gabriel. This takes us up to 89 for the year so far. Brilliant - what a team!

The sound of Spring! A willow warbler found by Rick this morning at St Nicholas Park. Chris also added three ticks yesterday, with swallow, house and sand martin spotted above the sewage treatment works. Warwick 100 now on 83 for the year so far 😊

Two newbies on the Warwick 100 list this week, with yellowhammer and green sandpiper spotted near Leek Wootton. Today, Alec has been at Kingfisher Pools with his camera - beautiful shots!

The Warwick 100 are up to 74 now, with a great crested grebe spotted on the lake at the Warwickshire golf course this morning. The big finch flock is still enjoying the sunflowers in Old Milverton, with at least three brambling among them today.

A smattering of redpoll in a flock of feeding siskins takes the Warwick 100 team to 73 😊 The huge mixed flock is still there too, with 3 brambling seen today. It's amazing how quickly a farmer allowing a field to go to seed can change things - we haven't seen near these numbers here before .

What a spectacle! Hundreds of finches, doves and corvids seen by Chris Hill, all feeding along Old Milverton Road, just inside the Warwick 100 area. At least 10 brambling present, which gives us our 71st species for the year so far. Pic courtesy of Alec, thanks 👍 😊

Another species crept onto the Warwick 100 list this afternoon - pics taken through my lounge window, as it climbed the trunk of our Acer tree, just outside. Sadly, I had already finished my @rspb.bsky.social birdwatch 🤣 Warwick 100 team up to 70 for the year now. 😊

I love the start of a year list, when even a coot is big news! Coot and gadwall added today, along with a delayed addition of rook from Gabriel takes us to 69 for the Warwick 100 2026. I'm back home to do the rspb garden birdwatch now 😊

The Warwick 100 list is now up to 65, as a tufted duck floated past my back garden this morning. Really wanted it to be a scaup, but we can't be greedy now can we? 🤣 🙂🙂

The Warwick 100 team have made a great start to 2026. Up to 54 species before midday! That's half way to our 100 target already. This birding lark is easy... 🤣🤣🤣

Well that is quite the garden tick! Our first brambling for the Warwick 100 since 2021 and it was no more than 5 metres away from my lounge, under the bird feeders in my garden! Takes us to 111 for the year and has given me just the biggest smile! 😁
