From Place Vendôme we made our way to our favourite Paris shopping mall - Galleries Lafayette Haussmann. They have gone to some trouble with the roof installation - something like this could really lift the aesthetics at Westfield Figtree or Warrawong.

We caught the Funicular back down the hill, then jumped on the Metro across to Place Vendôme. Shopping for a new pair of sneakers, I spotted this comfy looking pair for just €1600 - unfortunately nothing in my size.

We noticed a couple of places where the gardens had gotten a bit out of hand. No worries. We grabbed a couple more ladders from the bishop’s shed and made a start on some trimming. The locals just needed some guidance and inspiration. Happy to help out. And the view was pretty good up there too.

Fortunately we were prepared with the Ryobi pressure cleaner, and the local bishop was happy to help out with a ladder. Didn’t have time to get it finished, but made a good start. The bishop was organising a team of choir lads to give him a hand.

Times have obviously been tough here in Paris - our dinner venue last night has resorted to collecting old road signs to use for their tables. (Their meat had an earthy ‘roadside’ flavour too. Especially the venison. I went with the fish.)

Of course, Col left us a couple of days ago to assist with some mosaic restoration work over in Pompeii. The initial floor tiling recovery they have been working on is really showing some promise.

After our visit to the Basilica in Lyon, and some assistance with their renovations, the local artisans have completed their latest mosaic display. It has really filled a spot on the south wall of the cathedral.
