What on earth is wrong with so many people in this country? "Prince Harry booed" Oh yeah, they accept everything the scummy dregs of the media tell them, plus many are racist and cannot accept that a white man could marry someone who is not white. www.independent.co.uk/sport/rugby/...

Sad to hear that Margaret Hamilton has died, aged 90. Here she is in Lego form, recreating the icon picture of her stood next to the print out of the computer code she produced that controller the Apollo 11 moon landing systems. It sits just above my desk! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Congratulation to Sagal Abdi-Wali on her by-election win last night. A great, local, Labour candidate and UK success story now heading to Parliament! Polanski? What a loser! Lol! And Reform? Couldn't even beat the Tories!

The wrongs of the current Israeli leadership, which won't be around forever, do not in any case excuse actions promoting the opposite destruction. Two wrongs don't make a right.

I didn't know he'd gone to the Greens, but not surprised and even less surprised he supports this.

I also see that Greg Hadfield was a supporter of this. He is one of only two people I regret ever having had cross paths with. Former Daily Mail journalist, Rabid Corbynite. Suspended by Labour at least twice. Leading voice in Brighton and Hove Labour during the Corbyn years who made things hell.

No doubt plenty of people will come in with 'but this..., but that...' - but what? Racism is sometimes OK? Is that what you're saying? It's OK to overlook racisms because of some other bad thing? No. Nope. Never. Always call out racism. End of story.

If you still support that party, then you are support racism, making racism acceptable - one of the oldest form of racism at that - one that we ought to have learnt to avoid from history to avoid many times over. 2/3

This by Suzanne Moore is worth a read. The Green Party, in adopting the motion that includes calls for a single state solution (effectively the destruction of the state of Israel), has made itself a racist party with racist policies. 1/3 suzannemoore.substack.com/p/the-greens...

The Greens have shown us who they really are...
In September 2019, I literally ran away from the kind of people who have just voted to make their party the most racist party in our country.

(Correction, the consultation didn't itself set 6 points, just what points ought to be given, but 6 is a wider suggestion by some MPs on how many points it should be set at - same as no insurance.)

Warren Oates @warrenoates1.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
That closed in May. A couple of months to analyse the results - and the PM changed. Then summer. Now we're approaching October - well over due a response from the Burnham government. Will they act or delay things? 3/3

But it's now easier. And Keir Starmer's Labour government set off a consultation on making the penality for using them the same as having no insurance - 6 points and the option to confiscate the vehicle. 2/3

Oh no, Burnham does NOT propose this. All he does is promise to continue the plans underway for a long time under Starmer. Starmer included the promise in the 2024 manifesto. In January 2025, he set up the Independent Commission on Adult Social Care, chaired by Baroness Louise Casey... 1/2

What I find most disappointing is that so many on the left who I thought were sensible will just accept a fool to lead them because they have a red rosette. But I won't. A leader has to earn respect and to date there shit nothing at all to say Burnahm deserves any at all.

Warren Oates @warrenoates1.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Burnham is a deciful liar who is way out of his depth and cannot be trusted. I do not and never will support him and want him gone as soon as possible. Until then, I won't get behind the Labour leadership. Actions have consequences.

Warren Oates @warrenoates1.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
No way is that a joke. That decitful liar has no place being Labour leader nor PM. He needs to be gone asap.

Warren Oates @warrenoates1.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
But if you support that lying decitful scroat, then you are not better than Reform voter in my eyes, because you will get behind someone who has no morals and lies their way to the top. Shame on fucking you.

OK - so data shows only 25% of young people know about it and some schools currently feel excluded. But that should be a decision to invest more, grow it and raise awareness. Not go the other way and pull funding! Madness! 2/2

Scrapping the UK Youth Parliament would be an absurd decision. But the Department for Culture, Media and Sport - under Lisa Nandy's leadership and PM Burnham - is not committing to supplying funding for it any more. That amounts to just £453,000 in the last year. 1/2

Yeah, think those are highly unlikely. But given the state the US is in, should not be. In fact in a sensible world, the Republicans would be about to be wiped out...which won't happen because millions of Americans are not sensible.

Because my higher count would already include Ohio, Michigan, Alaska, Maine, New Hampshire, Georgia, North Carolina and even Texas and Iowa.
121
Warren Oates @warrenoates1.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Wouldn't that require places like Florida, South Carolina and Kansas? I can see why some might think they are in play, but each is very, very unlikely. Not sure what the other 3 would be though? Arkansas? Alabama? Montana?

Warren Oates @warrenoates1.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
Seems to be little being said about that now, from what I'm following. I think Trump just lost his Supreme Court case on trying to stop mail in ballots too. But on the other hand, until after the election has happened, votes counted and people take office, nothing can be taken for granted.

The polls in the US for this November's elections are getting very interesting. A year ago, the Republics were looking likely to hold on to Senate control. Now a 52-48 with the Democrats taking control is looking to be a more likely outcome. 1/2

One question I do have... ...does this include the full 10.1kWh I have generated at home today? Or just the 0.2kWh I have exported back into the grid? If just the latter, then there is likely a huge chunk of solar missing!

The TUC should have come out stronger and demanded a cap on political donations. It could easily have done so while protecting trade union political donations too - by having a limit for an individuals or organisations in general... 1/2

Weak. He knows he is making the wrong decision for the country and the planet, but still wants to go down that route for whatever vested interests control him. So he delays the 'unpopular' decision until after an event so it will cause him less damage. Just do the right think in the first place!

They have been constantly surprised for months and months. It's as if they assume bad shit was going to happen and had no faith in Starmer and Reeves to be doing the right thing. But month after month Starmer and Reeves proved the so called 'experts' wrong with 'better than expected' results.

Felt it was tidier/ cleaner to go for one without, plus easier to replace the charger cable if it gets damaged if not built in. We went with Future Proof Solar, who work across most of the country from their base in Retford.
