off the top of my head the first few pages of webcomics like twokinds, slightly damned and addictivescience sorta have that look (?)

I'll try and find some examples, I can't remember where exactly i've seen it cause it's been so long since I last saw it :p

I feel like I've talked about this before? I got a really weird feeling of deja vu just before I posted this

030

Warp @warpthedragon.art · 28/09/2026

there's a specific early 2000s "anime-esque" (?) furry artstyle that I find somewhat charming but almost nobody draws like that anymore and the only places I've seen art like that are around the early years of some 20-25 year old webcomics

that's hilarious I guess it was just the max/min width doing everything instead. I've made a steaming bowl of spaghetti 💔

Warp @warpthedragon.art · 23/08/2026

also I've been throwing around image-rendering: all over the place and it appears to solve the reduction in image quality when using scale: but at the same time I've been using scale: it to make images smaller, so I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes

111

Warp @warpthedragon.art · 23/08/2026

when I switched the units to rem for the image to scale with the font size it solved the issue of the image becoming supermassive at high zoom my original intention was for the image to sit just slightly into the top of the box and I kinda just brute-forced it :p see: warpthedragon.neocities.org

111

Warp @warpthedragon.art · 23/08/2026

I can't remember what I did exactly since I'm not at home rn I think I put a div containing the image on top of the box that contains all the text and stuff, then negative% margin-ed the box into place slightly under/into the image

111

Warp @warpthedragon.art · 23/08/2026

I'm not sure if it's the right way to go about it, but if it works it works /shrug

000

Warp @warpthedragon.art · 23/08/2026

something like this, I fixed the problem by switching the image scaling mechanism from vw to rem and the website should be usable on all devices and font sizes now (?)
