Make that 4 (ork) and then 4 more (tech-priests). Now I am starting to run into design space limitations and wanting to add different buffs and debuffs, but I feel that would take it too far away from the original intent. So once I finish the tech priests I think I'll be done for now.

Got so excited by a tabletop/boardgame that I've ended up designing 20 (with at least 3 more planned) full character rules based on wh40k minis I want to use.. Thats about the same amount that the game and all the expansions come with so I've been having fun. Some of these are probably very broken.

Saros is good actually. It is easier and the world modifier system is pointless, and once again there isn't much of a "build" system, but even when I finish a 2 hour run I look at that door and want to go again..

It seems Saros might be way easier than Returnal and this saddens me. If it doesn't require me to improve to progress then a lot of the things that made Returnal feel good might be lost

I have now played Marathon for ?? hours since launch and can confirm it is very fun. The contract system keeps you going back in, but I very rarely feel like any death is unfair anyway. While it is very PvP heavy you can still have long stretches of tension and navigating hard PvE enemies.

Marathon has been a lot of fun.. It is 100% kill on sight compared to ARC Raiders, and the maps feel very small, but everything else seems to be just slightly better planned and designed? I might have to play this on release after all..
