I knew about her philanthropy, loved her confident sense of self, but I hadn’t listened too much outside of “9 to 5“ and “Jolene,” etc. I’ve been on a Celtic folk song kick, and the Appalachian influence in “Little Sparrow” fits so well with that Scots-Irish tradition. Excited to enjoy more Dolly!

We’ve forgotten someone’s backpack both days of school so far. Before anyone suggest a morning routine checklist or something, yes, I have one. (The first day was the toddler’s backpack for gym childcare, so that was no big deal. A little more stressful when it was the 1st grader’s bag)

Just realized I should probably be getting the kids to bed at least an hour earlier than their alleged bedtime (they are not usually asleep for 30-60 minutes after THAT) I’m not too worried about the 6yo waking up for school, but his 3yo brother will be a grump about being up to drop him off.

I had to get a dental crown replaced because the last one wasn’t flush with the tooth on the side somehow? Anyway, this temporary crown has now come off twice, and I have not eaten anything particularly tough or sticky, and I followed instructions about how long to wait before eating

I get that you can’t show an outside movie before dusk, but dusk in summer is really late for kids movies I’m also in the early kid stage, and this might be fine for families whose youngest kid is 7 or 8? If mine stay up until 10:45, they will also be up at 6 AM sharp on the following Saturday.

Some days you play with age-appropriate, Montessori learning toys and some days, you just keep measuring your toddler’s body parts with a construction measuring tape while he giggles (we also watch plenty of Little Bear etc, have no fear… and also less-educational stuff that his brother picks)
