"Coffee" with a Clinician: Chapter 7 - Orthostatic Intolerance & Dysautonomia Part 1 September 2026
In this session of Bateman Horne Center's "Coffee" with a Clinician series, our panel discusses how orthostatic intolerance and dysautonomia are assessed in people with ME/CFS, Long COVID, and other infection-associated chronic conditions. We cover what dysautonomia is and why it's so debilitating, the tests used to evaluate it (active stand, Passive Stand / NASA Lean, and tilt table), the research on reduced blood flow to the brain, when to pursue full autonomic testing, how wearables can support pacing, and how post-exertional malaise (PEM) affects testing. We also answer questions submitted through the Q&A. This discussion is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Please consult your own clinician about your care.
