A late Christmas gift by me to me 😅 It did not disappoint ☕️ #coffee #specialtycoffee

It's a bit haunting to be alone in a room with Van Gogh... I recommend everyone who likes art to get a carte blanche at @museeorsay.bsky.social, which gives you entry 30 minutes before the museum opens to the crowds!

What happens when you put a bunch of highly talented first-year master students together with a brilliant post-doc? First, there is a lot of magic involving algebraic geometry and then you have a protocol for generating arbitrary multimode multi-photon states! 💪 arxiv.org/abs/2507.19397
An image of a photonic circuit. Starting from vacuum states, photon creation operators and interferometers (denoted U) are applied in an alternating fashion. At the end, the top mode is measured with a photon-number resolving detector, and upon the second mode one applies a displacement operator and then postselects on a zero-photon count. The remaining modes are indicated to be in a state denoted as psi.

We're opening a few postdoc positions in our group. The first one is about experimental multi parameter estimation in imaging problems using Spatial Mode Demultiplexing (SPADE). Contact @nicolastreps.bsky.social if you're interested! www.lkb.fr/multimodequa...

It both feels very long ago and yet very recent...

For the first time in over five years, I returned to the Freiburg, the little city where I did my PhD. It's funny how, after not having lived there for nine years, it still feels a bit like home.

Three days of exciting research and captivating tutorials come to an end. The second yearly colloquium of GDR TeQ was a blast, and it was an honour to co-chair it with @quantumhanna.bsky.social Thanks to everyone who participated!

Very proud to see my PhD student Antoine Debray give his first talk at a conference! He works on s-parameterised quasiprobability distributions and their capabilities of efficiently simulating quantum protocols.

The joy of organising an event (with @quantumhanna.bsky.social of course) and seeing things smoothly going well 😊 #GDRTEQ

I'm in Singapore to discuss energetic costs of quantum computing at the first workshop of the quantum energy imitative. Great to discuss things that range from energy costs required to decode quantum error correction codes all the way to questions related to sustainability and ethics! #QEI
