“Date Night” Another Leyendecker-inspired #Emmrich drawing for Valentine’s Day! | #DragonAge | #EmmrichVolkarin | #Nixmoriarty |

A painting done in a style and pose inspired by the artist Leyendecker of Emmrich Volkarin from Dragon Age the Veilguard checking himself in a mirror before he heads out for a date with Rook.

A mirror hangs on a sea-foam green wall. The mirror has a vaguely art-deco inspired gold frame, with lots of right angles and a gem shape in the top. In the mirror, Emmrich is reflected. He’s straightening his tie pin, which sits over the knot of a cream-colored cravat. His hair is neat and he’s wearing a cream-colored shirt with loose sleeves and armbands to hold them in place. Over his shirt is a red vest with pink lapels. His trousers are pleated and a slightly darker red than his vest. He also sports most of his canonical grave gold but no glove.

He carries a bouquet of flowers with Shroud’s kiss, lilies, gladiolus, and something similar to baby’s breath.

Behind him is a window with blue/green lighting with sheer maroon curtains hanging down the sides.

Day 6/Page 6-7 of #EMMRICHWEEK2025 Necropolis | Spirits Two pages today! I’ll be honest—I conflated spirits with wisps while writing this and, once I realized, I was too far in to change it lol. But Emmrich mentions the gardens so that’s the necropolis, too, right? 👀💦 { #nixmoriarty | #DragonAge }

This page is separated into four panels: one long but narrow on top, two square panels in the middle, and one larger panel on the bottom. The page is colored in dual tones, with a dark green/gray in the background and the characters are shaded in beige tones with a turquoise highlight.

In the top panel, Laelia faces forward looking up at three wisps that float around her, saying “these wisps again… there’s so many today.”

Emmrich replies: “It took me a while to understand their exact nature, myself.”

Page 5 of my Dragon Age the Veilguard fan comic for Emmrich Week 2025, featuring Emmrich, my Rook (Laelia), and now—Manfred!

The page is separated into five panels: two at the top, a long narrow panel in the middle, and two again at the bottom. The backgrounds are simple, paper and dry paint textured dark gray/green.

In the first panel, Manfred enters the frame waving and holding a small gift box tied up with ribbon. He shouts “Emmrriiccch! Roook!”

In the next panel, Emmrich stands behind Laelia with his hands on her shoulders. They both look at Manfred with delight. Emmrich greets him: “Ah! Manfred, wonderful of you to join us!”

In the middle panel, Emmrich and Manfred have met halfway, and Manfred hands the gift box to Emmrich saying “Present!”
Emmrich replies: “Thank you, Manfred! Very well done, my boy.”

In the next frame, Manfred gives Laelia a big hug, excitedly saying “Rook! Hugs!” Laelia has a big smile on her face and squeezes Manfred back.

In the last panel, a wisp flies between the two, surprising Laelia, who lets out a nondescript exclamation (!!).

Day 4/Page 4 of #EMMRICHWEEK2025 #GraveGold Back to fluff with this page! I love the thought that Emmrich showers Rook in gifts of grave gold to build up their collection—especially a Rook that wasn’t already a Watcher. { #nixmoriarty | #DragonAge | #Emmrich }

The page is divided in half, with a panel at the top and a panel at the bottom. Emmrich and Laelia (Rook) from Dragon Age the Veilguard stroll through the memorial gardens in the top panel, Laelia grazing a gravestone with her fingertips as they walk past. Wisps surround them.

Emmrich comments: “I never imagined you’d learn to love this place. Yet, here you are—soon to take your vows as a Watcher.”

Laelia idly replies: “What strange turns out lives take, hmm?”

In the bottom panel, Emmrich embraces Laelia from behind, touching the gold jewelry on her neck and left hand. She looks up at him, beaming. Two smaller callout panels flank them, each focusing in on the jewelry she wears.

Emmrich and Laelia (Rook) from Dragon Age the Veilguard walk through the Vault of the Beloved. It’s #EMMRICHWEEK2025 !!! I’ve made a fan comic, where each page was based (sometimes loosely) on the daily prompts, woven into a very self-indulgent and flufftacular story, featuring my Rook: Laelia Aldwir. I’ll post 1-2 pages a day! Day 1: #Necromancy { #nixmoriarty | #DragonAge }

Emmrich from Dragon Age the Veilguard performs necromancy to animate a skull. Painting style is based on Leyendecker’s art deco character paintings, with very warm tones and a black background. Emmrich’s hands are raised, with turquoise magic flowing through his figures and through ye skull, which is levitating to about chest high. He stands in front of a podium, with candles to the left, and a pile of skulls sitting on a red cloth to the right.

In the cover version of this illustration, there is the comic title “Adoration” with the subtitle “A Fan Comic By Nixmori.”

Extra sketch comic I did because I love Durge in a dress (I need to draw Gortash's boss form properly sometime 😌)

A short sketch comic of Durge and Gortash. The first panel shows Gortash carrying Durge in a bridal carry as the painter Adii (my Tav, though just a simple banite in this comic) paints them together in real time. The painter is also not actually a professional painter, but still the simple painting has a certain charm to it. Gortash smiles and sweats nervously as the painter says “Just hold that pose for another hour!”. Gortash can’t hold Durge for such a long time, nervously thinking to himself “Dear gods… Bane give me strength.”

Gortash didn’t actually mean for Bane to take it literally, and is taken off guard when he gets transformed into his boss form. Bane says in Gortash’s mind “Your wish is granted,” and poof, Gortash is much larger and can now easily carry Durge. Durge looks pleasantly surprised, his veil falling off at the sudden change. Gortash thinks “this isn’t what I meant!!!” and looks slightly irked.
