iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Yeah, as I said in next message and that is also why I never made this bsky.app/profile/vvoo... public.

Well, I wish TL would work bit different but that is for longer discussion and yeah, just showing them all and not care is probably bast way to go.

So my goal was not to take piss of peoples posters. It was just not ideal solution to something else.

I want this poster feed for very long time but I never figure out how to make it without incentivizing people to make whatever zero effort poster just to show up on this feed. Solution would be letting people rate them. Its bad solution and I know it as you do.

100

I'm still leaning towards leaving it as I envisioned TL. I'm also scared of changes tbh. True reason why I brought this poster thing up was truly to create some sort of feed of posters to show them of since many of them are incredible and many people do choose what event go to based on posters.

100

What about just simply having number of likes on poster, number of interests on events, number of followers in club page without any leaderboard? Or keep TL as is, leaving users without any clue which place is popular and which one not?

And that is why I'm not going to do that "slop of the week" part of this. It was just silly suggestion that would most likely do just damage. I'm curious what are your thoughts about positive part of this suggestion - showing most liked posters each week?

100

I don't se myself making rule against AI posters. There is no way I would be deciding which one is or not. It just needs to be called out to set a norm and one way of doing so could be such negative leaderboard 😅but its very unlikely I will do that anyway, only positive one if I get to making it

if you don't give them chat box, its just opinion, not bitching :D

vvoody @vvoody.sk · 21/08/2026

I always wanted to give posters more exposure but never figure out how to filter out bad ones. Recent reincarnation of "smash or pass" and ever present slop hate gave me idea of creating "banger or slop" on TL with weekly poster leaderboard... both ways :D thoughts?

I had for long time idea to introduce to TL something like "event series" to accommodate this. Possibility for user to filter out and show only event of one series in club page. For clubs to define series description/poster only once if preferred. Yes series name would show up by default.

Dev stack I never used before. Also first job where I have to communicate with not my first language. It was rough start but things are getting settled and hopefully they will get less hectic so I can find energy to progress with TL a bit more again.

...and events with fav genre could be prioritized to render on top. But reality is that I'm 3 months into new job and I'm pretty drained from it every day after work hours. New a much bigger team I was ever worked with. New codebase of already sizable project that is changing super fast.

To improve situation, idea is to introduce music genres (per event and perhaps per slot as well) and give user option to favorite genre. Those could show up as tag on event box (like you can today already show for example "open decks" or any other tag - settings)...

I know how you feel about this. Its shitty from me to punish everyone else, but this is path I chose. I will keep TL frontpage free of bs, readable and rather give people customization to enhance it, so if individuals feel like seeing event titles directly on frontpage, there is setting for it.

People will still go full caps or/and repeating same characters to be MoRe EyE CaTcHy! And we should not forget about people using TL homepage as GoFundMe advertisement platform. On other hand I generally don't care what people put in event detail as long as its not illegal or extremely dumb.

Giving people free text input that would show up on "frontpage" was always bad idea. Title had to be cut in length since people were entering 2 paragraphs of text there. Than line of repeating colorful emojis making TL look like circus - those were filtered.

vrc.tl/changelog there is red dot in menu if changelog have something new in it. Event titles still can be shown, but its not default anymore.

How dumb idea is to run VRChat with 32 GB R9700? I thought these AI cards are much more expensive.

Cheeky club page poster preview. Also browser (system) notifications, JP localization and more... but you all reading changelog anyway, right? .... right?!

I didn't expected this one to have such impact. Seeing just club names makes TL so much easier to read. vrc.tl/changelog

lol, wake up from that dream

sometimes I don't really have time to even skim through all posters if there is something sketch. Also many events are posted not long before their start.

It would be 2 digit number at best imho. User base is still too small to start using any sort of automatic algorithms. It would be too easy to abuse such system if someone decided to remove someone else club from TL. But simple quick report from event page with text field is something I want to make

Summon the elders and let them decide if the offender of decency should be punished or banished.

Can we start being reasonable with what we are putting on TL? I really don't want to start curating events and I don't want to receive DMs from Leem starting like "Hello, wheres ur line on 'decency' on timeline" thinking he is going with pitchfork at me, this one gave me little heart attack :D
