Having passed law school alone allows you to add J.D. to the end of your name and that is it, even that is risky if it could be mistaken for a claim of being licensed.

That genuinely isn't how it works. In the US they are equivalent terms. In some other common law counties attorney is more ambiguous including people with the power to act for someone else like someone with power of attorney, in those counties lawyer is used to prevent that.

This reminds me of Death saying in Hogfather "I am last minute stuff" Of COURSE we are going to care about the words we use to describe the practice of law.

I am wondering how I would do public records requests for all the unsolicited dick pics sent to electeds along with their e-mails. A pubic records request if you will

I wish the default choice was to simply collect them and use them in the space before stop signs where people are not supposed to park to create protected bike parking. They are useful things when properly applied!

For burgers I have been doing these (I add frozen corn because morning star farms) www.seriouseats.com/the-best-bla... It isn't a hamburger but it is a darn good burger experience.

Really Awesome Black Bean Burgers Recipe
These black bean burgers have a complex, satisfying flavor and robustly meaty texture that even carnivores love. Try them on the grill or in a skillet.

I do a chicken version too. This will not replace ground beef in meatloaf or burgers but try it in taco type applications and casseroles.

Add your usual seasoning on top. Brown like usual. You will need to add more fat to make it brown well. The BtB will tend to stick.

Lately we have been using firm tofu pulled into rouch chunky puts with beef better than bullion and wosthcher sauce as a ground beef sub in a couple of recipes and I recommend it. It is cheaper but also it lasts longer meaning we can cook once a week without having to freeze anything.

If you really think the ability to function inside a specific cultural environment is important to a position (and it really can be, sometimes more than one!) why isn't that requirement and the expectation you will demonstrate it part of the job description?

And they are shocked when individual people also look for places to work that share their cultural norms or look for places where their norms are accepted as part of the interview process.

I suspect what they really expect if for everyone to try to match their cultural expectations and for them to choose whomever does the best job.

It is so interesting how the same people say they really look for cultural for and are so offended when people don't share the expectations of their culture.

I would argue the rule here is for wild animals not domesticated ones but generally I agree. We simply doesn't have the history with AI that we do with domesticated animals.that let us assume goodwill, instead these are alien intelligence more akin to wild creatures that are being kept.

Everything is in a single bag now, you cannot remove the second bag without emptying literally everything out and then turning it upside down and shaking it. It seems mild but finding a place to store literally everything is pretty hard. Some items interact poorly or are damaged in mergers

And in a lot of cases I have been talking to people who have really been harmed, as you probably have too. But letting people hurt themselves with the justice system isn't kind or fair. But man it hurts me every time I see real injustice but not a realistic pathway to resolution.

It is so hard as a lawyer to say "I have nothing useful or good to offer you" but it is amazing how often that is so good for the client to hear. That they have done what they can, that they can let go even if they haven't gotten the justice they want.

I think if I was going to create a romance dynamic in a game it would be something really abstracted like you and someone have to agree to plant seeds in the same plot of ground and you are together until the plants grow and you can see if the things they grow into match...

But despite whatever conservatives say, governments which are popular are governments which make life *feel* materially better for the people they govern. The government that focuses on the day to day indignities of living in a place (for the poor and wealthy alike) is the one that governs best.

Power and fear operating at a personal level is part of what lets you use elite license because it creates that fear of reprisal from those who might object. The slander and vilification of transgender people is an important part of the process not a weird quirk.

It isn't an accident that regimes that want to undermine rule of law always start by dehumanizing and marginalizing minorities. The easiest way to undermine popular governance is to find a label that legitimizes removing people from franchise and other protections.

I think of these things as towers on a suspension bridge, the tension is created by the connection and a big part of what keeps everything stable. Respecting minority rights is crucial to democracy because you can't govern if you can't be comfortable in your right to exist.

If there was ever a time in the US to understand that civil rights and rule of law support each other as two pillars despite the apparent points of tension it is now.

If a person is not sovereign over their own identity, their selfhood the idea of self governance by democratic process is undermined.

If people cannot be trusted to know who they are the entire work of self government and civil society is undermined. Supporting trans people isn't a marginal issue, it goes to the core of everything I value in our social contract.

Because then you can have two projects running as each takes a different warp thread set up, but there are at least five looms, the table looms are just not usually set up! The real question is why is there only one knitting machine!

And the kid thinks it is the best place in the world and wants to go all the time, they have a whole list of ceramic projects they want to do. The space is magical but also it is a place where kids are treated like competent humans and they love that too.

And blockers should be available so no one has to do it before they feel ready or certain, puberty should be consent based because we can make it consent based. We don't have to tell kids your body is going to change and there is nothing you can do about it anymore if we decide not to.
