Great to see more public datasets out there. CrUX is great, and obviously has extra sway given the Google name behind it, but it’s Chrome-only. So RUM Archive fills that gap and lets us see how other browsers compare.

I miss the days when editor updates was targeted at developers rather than AI agents. Sure, agentic AI and such can be amazing, but the _editor_ is primarily the domain of a human developer in my world. When I want to be agentic I use pi.dev or some other dedicated agentic harness.

Wonderful that the far right seems to be the biggest losers in the Swedish national election – so far they have grown each year, now they are estimated to lose 3.3% and only become the third largest one (They did lose votes in the latest election as well though, which was to the EU parliament)

The iPhone Mini is long gone – but: The iPhone Duo is 13.7mm shorter than the Mini is and even just 2.6mm taller than an iPhone 4 and 2.3mm than an iPhone 3G. It’s 1mm thinner than an iPhone 3G, 2mm thicker than an iPhone 4, 3.65mm thicker than a iPhone 13 Mini. So it’s a new Mini kind of?

I also unrelatedly hope that this phone-iPad Mini cause iPadOS to re-merge into iOS. iOS launched as iPhone OS, then got renamed to iOS shortly after the iPad launched, then ~9 years later they rebranded the iPad version as iPadOS, but unlike eg. tvOS or watchOS it’s still very much the same OS(?)

Apple usually holds back on unveiling API:s for unannounced devices until after announcement, and iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1, so there is still hope even though the collaboration with the wider community will be lacking. They did eg. ship WebXR in the Vision OS I believe.

It’s funny how the iPhone Duo gets compared to the Samsung Fold 8 – no foldable have used the form factor of the iPhone Duo / Fold 8 since: The Surface Duo in 2019/2021 The Surface Duo was always the more appealing form factor to me – Apple took the best of it and the foldable screens.

Any food critique will be able to spot that glue isn’t suitable on a pizza. Any dev should be able to spot SQL injection hazards. Any properly instructed agentic AI should have instructions that makes it not base topping recommendations on Reddit satire. Google’s AI summary is not agentic.

I think there’s a difference between being able to critique code and being able to efficiently write it. It’s a bit like saying only chefs can be good food critiques? Is the biggest asset of a good developer their ability to write good code fast or to architect and evaluate code projects?
