pet peeve: when menus list a flavor as “rose” and i expect a light and floral delight but they actually meant rosé and now I’m stuck drinking a cocktail that tastes like sour wine

i went into Digger totally blind (as one should) and really enjoyed it. But it probably struck a particular chord with me as a frustrated zillenial who actively works in environmental protection.

Yea! far frontier was good, but it def wanted to do more storyline than could fit in a single volume

I read and watched hellsing at a formative age, which probably shaped my media tastes (fetishes?) in strange, immeasurable ways. Anyway. Libby now has digital copies of it so re-reading it for the helluva it.

maybe radwimps should write the plots since they’re featured in like half the films anyway 🙄

sorry to folks who like makoto shinkai but all the movies I’ve seen by him have been middling at best and eye-rollingly bad at worst. Weathering with You fell into the latter category. Beautiful animation but can he hire someone else to write a decent plot

ok updating this more. Finished the horror short film collection Cabinet of Curiosities. Like any anthology this had some hits-and-misses. My top two were The Autopsy and The Outside!

I am pleased with how my betta fish dish came out. I’m having a lot of fun playing with the glaze on these fish!

Ceramic dish sculpted in the shape of a betta fish. The glaze ranges from green to blue to purple.

back to playing the unbearable game for the harrowing plot and the sweet taste of plague doctor yaoi

Was about 3/4 of the way through this history of the plague when i saw a local horror book club was reading Between Two Fires. Decided to join, which then created this Black Death Double Feature. Really enhanced the experience and made for good discussion at the meetup!

picked this up for a book club i ended up not being able to go to🤷 It was…mediocre bordering on actively bad. Didn’t think a book about dinosaur ghosts(!) and murder mysteries could be so dull. Protagonist managed to be incredibly flat and also highly annoying.
