Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 30/09/2026My other vehicles occasionally get good treatment, but not… my utmost attention. 030

Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 26/09/2026“I only use Instagram occasionally; not so worried about them collecting data!” Seriously, don’t download binaries from Meta. Use a decent web browser to enjoy your friend’s feeds instead. 010
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 26/09/2026San Francisco afternoon. Two interesting cars. Found parking at a friend’s house, with permission to use the driveway. :-) 030
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I got a cool book in the mail that I learned about on BlueSky 061
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I finally relinquished and downloaded the bluesky binary just to post these. Please clap. 260
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 22/09/2026An oldie, but a goodie: my car under a previous owner. All these Things save the R100 are still in the wider circle of friends. One of 2-3 E39 M5s with the Westfalia towing bumper in the US. Couple of modules and little wiring later, you have a nice, legal and correct tow vehicle. 020
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Thank you for the recommendation. I struck out in both places, but had a second thought. I bought the filter and pump combo from EME; turns out they've got one of the correct o-rings in stock, but I’d glossed over it when shopping this weekend. BTW: I think you might appreciate this photo. 110
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Trying to figure out how I covered 70 miles the other day - apparently whilerunning a mix of Sta-Bil, 87 octane Gasoline and about a pint of 50:1 two stroke mix. And water. A lot of water. Poor bike runs perfectly on straight gas and actually managed to idle on this witches’ brew. 250
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Few American songwriters seem to have the breadth and depth of Bob Mould. (Deep into a periodic Mould obsession that goes further than usual.) 000

Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 20/09/2026If you want to talk about demographics at this event, it was wacky. At least from what I observed, it was about 2 to 1 guys with money, and a surprising number of rat rods for real driving. 120
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 20/09/2026I had a lovely day of motoring. Got my motorcycle fired back up and took it over Mount Rose. Earlier in the day, I washed the M3 and made a sightseeing run to the Virginia City Hill climb, which asks only $1000 for the same drive I can make for free every other weekend of the year. 5111
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Look at them little aperture blades sitting there, all cute and stuff. I will post a note about the duo as soon as I get one. 000
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Now let’s talk about some OG long roof soul stirrers. All the understeer you can carry! 030
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 15/09/2026The person I’m in love with lives far away, so sometimes I just take pictures of flowers and send those to them, because I can never forget their face when they come down the airport escalator and I’ve got flowers. 020
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Weathervane says what (There is currently $400 billion of spending planned for just one county in her state. Add up all the rest and it’s close to 1 trillion.) 000
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 14/09/2026picryl.com/media/tbm-3e... Always a delight to see your grandfather in a photo. The Antietam passed through the Panama Canal as VJ-day happened. @sodrock.bsky.social 110

Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 26/08/2026“ Let me bring my rapidly appreciating asset to a place where it will lose value simply by existing and having been here.” I left a note on the windshield because something tells me they’ll take eight grand for it. 120
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Ian, I’m not paid to argue about on social media; my job consists of keeping people here alive. I’m sorry if my perspective isn’t valuable or wanted. This is the guidance that everyone on site has been given. The event starts a week from today. 120

Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 21/08/2026This bike and I have had some great adventures - east of Mono Lake, summer of ‘20. The ride in was -fun- 010
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 20/08/2026In Black Rock City just shy of two weeks before opening you just point the hood ornament at a thing and sorta keep your eyes open. Then you get to wake up and watch something you helped with fly. 010

Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Oh, I’d been very drunk there, many times. Maybe someone will build something that’s not a bar there. 020
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 19/08/2026What’s the speed limit in your state for rural highways? I once saw a two-lane road in Texas marked for 85 miles an hour. 230
Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 19/08/2026“ yes, you can bring it out to spot 18 through 23” I was fortunate. This was a two- minute transaction to pick up something for someone else. Luckily, it’s right next to the loading dock, so there’s lots of concrete to roam around on 330

Captain Capybara @vought.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Very unusual offering for the temple this year. Yes, I’m on the LNT crew and will be removing it to my home after it’s been cleaned. RIP, Mike. 120
