The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption.

Encouraging everyone to vote is not enough anymore. On election day, volunteer polling station observers should be everywhere, with a judge on speed dial for whenever ICE and/or MAGAts try anything. Constant livestreaming at every door in or out. Every car leaving with ballot boxes followed.

Just when I think this administration could not sink any lower, they wheel out live-streamed executions. Their depravity isn't even shocking anymore. It's just sad and pathetic. And clearly, part of the reason they are doing this is to send a message to muslims in general. Truly sickening.
