Petri's an old bud from the day who has put out some solid jams over the years. Their ability to jump genres and maintain a high quality of production always amazed me and this album's no different. It's a revisitation of some great material and you should give'r a listen, eh bud

I was just playing Apidya' Special and this was my big issue with the remake graphics. They're beautiful, but the play-relevant sprites get a bit lost in the (stunning) backgrounds. Switched to original graphics and I was doing much better

That said, Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviours has a silly good amount of variation for a shmup

I don't need 80,000 hours of playable content. I need a tight half hour with a slightly different final cutscene on the one credit clear

I don't need a new AAA action roguelike with crafting and qte cinematics I need a 2D boss rush danmaku shmup kusoge that doesn't have "survivors" in the title

Every form of media has those works that are considered essential and groundbreaking, which everyone knows about, but few actually experience. I'd probably put Sweet Home (the game) in there. Everyone's all "first survival horror" "resident evil precursor", but I wonder how many seek out the ROM

The previous Lovely Hellplace game, Dread Delusion is one that's very dear to me. I played it throughout most of its lifecycle on early access and it was just such a captivating, melancholy world that I would spend hours exploring. Very excited to follow this one too.

And finally, gotta throw this one out there. Not much to say, it's just like, THE classic speedcore record, imo. I could list great tunes all day, but these are just some of the main reasons I make this music www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQnw...

One of my 'holy grail' records for sure. I'd downloaded all the old Disciples tracks back in college and Goat of Mendes is just one of those ultra-simple tracks that goes so hard. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxL4...

While this one's definitely more straightforward for the genre, DJ Tron was one of those artists who really pushed this music in such creative directions. So many great records and one of those people who left far too soon. RIP www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-sE...

and I can't not mention Scotch Egg. novelty of gameboy gabber meets harsh noise aside, his arrangements are just so interesting. really creative use of the gameboy hardware and I had to go and get a flash cart and LSDJ after listening to him www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BAb...

This dude is a character and a half. Met him in Rotterdam once and he was a genuinely nice guy, but had just the most batshit stories. A lot of my early speedcore was very much inspired by his stuff www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkBN...

I know most here in the humanimal fandom associate speedcore with the more melodic, m1dy-style stuff and, initially, I was really into that too. I tire on it quickly now, but I listened to this one all the time in highschool www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEwU...

I could've picked any of the early Plague tracks, but we're going with this. Even though you can hear elements of his characteristic style on CSR3 with his Leeloo collab, this weirder, rawer stuff is what got me into speedcore/terror in the first place www.youtube.com/watch?v=veC7...

It's been about 20 years since a friend at the time put me onto gabber and I very quickly found my way to its harder, darker offshoots. My first real forays into electronic music production were in hardcore, so here's some of the tracks that got me making this music:
