Are you a satellite operator looking for support with keeping track of your spacecraft, receiving its RF downlinks, or performing object identification?

Von Storch Engineering @vonstorcheng.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
This significantly reduces the risk for the customer of loosing contact with their spacecraft, allows for smooth operations to be maintained from day 1 and improves space safety for everyone. ✅

We support our customers by keeping track of their spacecraft in the weeks after launch (we perform daily independent measurements for orbit determination), help receiving their RF downlinks and perform quick and accurate object identification.

After the spacecraft are deployed from the rocket, they drift apart. Image 3 shows the separation between objects on day 5 after launch. In order to maintain stable RF communications with the spacecraft, it is critical to keep accurate track of their location. 🎯

The images show the s-band and UHF downlink spectrum as received by two of our tracking stations on Orbit 2 after launch last week. Many spacecraft RF downlinks can be seen active. This is one of the most RF-busy Transporter missions we have seen so far! 📡

It is now heading back into deep space and will return to Earth for another gravity assist in January 2029, before continuing on to Jupiter, where it is planned to arrive in July 2031. 🚀

During today's flyby, JUICE's trajectory was deflected by about 20 degrees and its velocity increased by approximately 3.5 km/s.

In the plots, several burns are also visible. 🚀 Even tiny Reaction Control System (RCS) maneuvers, on the order of cm/s, can be resolved — such as during proximity operations with the ICPS upper stage on day 1.

Several dynamic effects can be seen in the data. The observed frequency shift has several contributions, e.g. due to the trajectory of Orion itself, Earth's rotation, and locked/unlocked periods with the Deep Space Network.

Von Storch Engineering @vonstorcheng.bsky.social · 15/04/2026
📷 The plots show the measured carrier frequency (y-axis) over time (x-axis). From these measurements, changes in relative velocity between the spacecraft and our ground station can be derived via the Doppler effect — providing insight into Orion’s trajectory.
