iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

So… it’s complicated, and multiple things can be true and the same time. We cast people out with no real path for a socially approved redemption arc. And gods know we’ll tolerate worse behavior from anyone who has real power and money.

So some neighbor accountability is warranted here. When the behavior is harmful, unapologetic, repeated, and predictable… there are consequences. The article also makes it sound like the Glitter police do not understand SW, yet some of the people assaulted are also SWers.

In a farther away sort of way, I agree… but I do feel compelled to say in this particular case, I think it’s important that JJ did not just ‘bring a bad client to shows’… they actively encouraged interactions with performers, were told when assaults happened, and brushed it off and did it again.

Yeah, I appreciate that too. Anti-police usually turns into some form of “self-policing” in marginalized communities and there are no perfect solutions. I wish more communities could figure out how to lay out restorative justice.

This was a fascinating read. Though personally, I know SO many people involved and it is quite complicated. Many of the people cancelling JJ are also SWers. Calling them a groomer is way too far and IMO, but the article simplifies what the Glitter Police were upset about.

I experienced my first ever drone shoot yesterday thanks to j_zang_photos on IG. What else would you like to see me do, filmed by an overhead drone? 👀

I’m not in a troupe. I’m independent but most of my shows are in NYC
