Some favourite love songs if you want to think about your special someone while you do your work. I'll be thinking of my favourite person on the planet, Christie Von Bieker - how wonderful she is and how lucky I am. open.spotify.com/playlist/3WU...

I think the creators get paid from those ads as well through YouTube’s monetization, no? Obviously not the full amount but I think your channel needs to be a certain size and then you get paid for the ads run on it.

I don’t have Premium and don’t want to, but I do think the creators need to be paid somehow because those videos are a lot of work.

Yes. And with YouTube I don’t think a lot of the content would exist if it wasn’t monetized - that feels different from other social platforms to me. The people making a living from YouTube would need to be able to do that somewhere else. In this case, maybe YouTube Premium or is the alternative?

I almost became a pastor. I studied the Bible for 4 years in college. It’s my only degree. I would have never guessed we’d be in a place where calls for mercy on behalf of the oppressed are being called out as anti-Christian. It is insane to me. I can’t reconcile it.

Thinking about how my first impulse leaving other social media platforms is “how can I replace this platform immediately?” rather than “can I live without this platform” or “what might life look like without this?”

Kindness will definitely involve being kind to people you don’t want to be kind to. That’s the whole thing.

Anyone else feeling the discomfort that comes between the death of the old and the clarity of the new? “The old is dead, and I don’t know what the new is. The only way to find the new is to start different things and see if there’s something that can come out of experimentation.” - David Lynch

Keep finding ways to build community where you are planted. We can’t do everything, but we can do something and that something often small, local and more important than it seems.

Mostly indie folk stuff - which is what I release and perform, but I like to play around a bit with electronic instrumentals too. You?

This weekend im hosting a lil variety show at Bent Stick where the theme is “New You”. It’s meant to be serious and tongue-in-cheek all at once. What are your thoughts on self improvement? Can you share any poems or short stories about it?
