As promised! My hourly comic...drawn on the following day! 🤣 But hey, it's done! and it was fun to just draw without any pressure and give y'all a look into what I do "behind the scenes"! #hourlycomicsday #hourlycomicday #hcd2026

Hourly Comics 2026! Sunday, Feb. 8 (I drew this on Feb. 9)
9am: Initial wakeup, with my bonnet halfway off | Went back to sleep until around 10am
10am: Logged my weight, I'm on a downward trend, yay! | Took meds and vitamins, and ate an orange and protein bar for breakfast

10am, continued: Watched Jettro play Resident Evil 2 while doing my Bullet Journal Daily Log | Practiced my affirmations: "The person I want to be is a better version of myself" | Applied pre-shampoo sugar scrub to my scalp

11am: Shower, Exfoliate, Shampoo, Condition! | Moisturize | Dressed! But still have to style my hair
12pm: Hair is twisted! Feeling good!

12pm: Decided to experiment with eye makeup
1-4pm: Cleaned up my spaces and cooked some snacks with my mom!
5pm-11:30pm: Started to watch Lord of the Rings | Paused to watch the Bad Bunny Half Time Show | After finishing LoTR (the first one), I realized I had to start getting ready for work | Had to say goodbye to my pretty makeup and wipe it off for the evening. Acted like Mulan during the song "Reflection"
12am: Did my wind down and went to sleep, deciding to draw this all the following day!

Hey there! My name's Ren or VoltLotus! Right now I'm in the pits of development with my fantasy comic Wannabe Hero (wannabeherocomic.com) and rebuilding my portfolio, but here's some of what I got so far, which I'm pretty proud of! ⚡🪷 voltlotus.com ☕ ko-fi.com/voltlotus

Work in Progress of my cover for Wannabe Hero. V.V. is sitting on the edge of a cliff with optimism, kicking her feet. Neo is a few steps behind her, ready for exploration.

Scrapped penciled page of V.V. going about her plain mail delivery job

These pages are for my pitch with Demystify, but it def made me fall in love with working in b&w/limited colors! You can see all pages here: voltlotus.com/comics I do plan on working in b&w with my main comic Wannabe Hero tho! #bwcomics 🖤🩶🤍

The first comic page of my pitch packet. Oscar is a detective in disguise, and he's trying to see if Lotus is purposely committing fraud with her psychic readings.

Panel 1 - Oscar: "I'm really new to this whole divination thing…but my sister mentioned you helped her a lot!
Lotus: "So you wanted to start with a tarot reading?"
Panel 2 - Oscar: "I feel like I need a change in my life. I can't stay a barista forever."
Panel 3 - Oscar: "But I don't know what my next step should be"
Panel 4 - Lotus: "I can sense that, Mr. Dunlap"
Panel 5 - Lotus: "Let's Begin. You want to ask the deck a question, so ask it."

Lotus is reading Oscar's Tarot Reading

Panel 1 - Oscar: "Hmm...Why am I feeling anxious about my job?"
Panel 2 - Lotus: "Let's see what the cards have to say."
Panel 3 - Lotus: "The person you trust most does not trust you. They disrespect you. You're their pawn. And you know this, but you can't handle the truth in front of you."
Panel 4 - Oscar: "What would you suggest I do?" ; Lotus: "Me? I suggest you give your two weeks notice and quit--detective."

Oscar realizes that Lotus has caught on to his act.

Panel 1 - Oscar: "E-excuse me?"
Panel 2 - Lotus: "You heard what I said, Detective Oscar Burns."
Panel 3 - Oscar: "Actually...I'm a private investigat--"
Panel 4 - Oscar: "Ow! Ow! OW!"
Panel 5 - Oscar: "MmmmpH!!"

Lotus does a bit of a victory lap, offering Oscar tea now that they're no longer beating around the bush

Panel 1 - Lotus: "Since we've dropped the pretense, would you like some Oo-long tea?" ; Oscar: "I'd like the truth, Doctor Rayne."
Panel 2 - Lotus: "Oops! You got me. All of this astrology, crystals, divining...It's an aesthetic. But! I do help people."
Panel 3 - Oscar: "By lying to them."
Panel 4 - Lotus: "I'm not lying--or 'begetting fraud' as the lawyers like to say. I offer alternative forms of healing."

So happy that this project is funded! Even more excited to relaunch Wannabe Hero on this software when it's ready! Here are some of my favorite WIPs and panels from my project so far! #ComicArtTrain #ComixCleric

Panel 1: V.V. is at her post office job, she's stuffing envelopes of mail into her satchel. One of her coworkers, a siren, is giving her the side eye cause she's one of the few people that is upbeat about this job.
- V.V. (thinking): "Looks like I'm on the same route today."

Panel 2: V.V. is walking down the main hallway of the post office. A few civilians are waiting in line for the offices to open, and an elf woman is using the supplied desk to write. In the forefront is a public notice billboard, with a section for wanted criminals.
- V.V. (thinking): "I'll check out the wanted board and start my shift."

Panel 3: V.V. takes notice of a particular wanted poster.
- V.V. (thinking): "Oh, this one's new."

Panel 4: Zoom in of the wanted poster, showing Neo blowing a kiss to the camera.
- V.V. (thinking): "Neo Cloudvane. Wanted for petty theft, grand theft, B & E, plus other antics? Goodness. That's a pretty nifty bounty too."

WIP of V.V. and Neo standing over a cliff, ready to explore.

Neo drying dishes, holding a plate in his left hand and a drying cloth in his right hand.

A young V.V. beaming with excitement, she's pumped for her chance to prove herself

- V.V.: "Oh boy, let's do this!!"
