i must not fear The Project

tumblr post by gailynovelry:
"The fastest way to accomplish The Project is to cease being afraid of The Project. The Project cannot maim you. The Project cannot kill you. The Project is more afraid of you than you are of it. It is okay if The Project turns out differently from how it was in your head, and it is okay if it has flaws. You are capable of engaging with The Project."

Cheat code for creatives: if you let your personal sadness and genuine soul-deep horniness into your art, it's pretty much immune to being co-opted by modern fascists, who focus mainly on selling a wholesome heartland that they can use as an excuse for violence they'll label as glory.

A grey humanoid moth alien known as Dav poses against a yellow galaxy image, he sticks out his tongue and levitates a orange communication device that is portraying a much older Moth alien who is aggravated.

White text on a yellow galaxy background.
"Lepidoptrian's are an insectoid species famed for having intrinsic psionic powers, earning them the nickname of brain-bugs. They are the largest part of the universal commonwealth and their emperor resides as the unofficial leader due to his predecessor bringing the first members together, Their psionics allow them to interact with the world through pure mind power. Many Lepi ships are powered purely by a team of trained psionics and many thrive on multispecies voyages. They have cape-like wings that allow them to glide with smaller individuals able to take true flight. Currently the imperial fleet is in a bit of a tizzy as the emperors grandson has run away from home"

This image features Gorkinzor, a Vaikar. A reddish snake like alien with gills and a seemingly mechanical arm. She poses with an orb holding a much smaller Vaikar.

White Text on a red galaxy background.
"Vaikar"
"The Vaikar are a snake-like amphibious species from a planet not too dissimilar from earth. A vibrant place with plentiful resources, giving forth a species of inventors, mechanics and musicians. Vaikar are born limbless and fully aquatic, though some choose surgical prosthetics to better interact with tech made for the more common two armed xeno. They are well known for their invention of an orb like incubator that can be coded to any environment, vital to many who live aboard spaceships and stations.
Almost always topping the charts, their attunement to sound is like no other."

An eyeless whale like alien floats in zero gravity wearing a body suit.

"Tacean
One of the few fellow mammalian species in the universal commonwealth and one of the rarest. Hailing from a planet of vibrant waters and icy flatlands where the sun only shines for a month out of the year. Despite their small population, they are a vital part of the commonwealth for their sonar, radio and vital deep sea research and technologies. However it is extremely rare to see one on any crew due to them primarily staying planet side. They are a species that displays sexual dimorphism with their males being half the size of females and often missing the feathery crest. Their planet has been on high restriction since one of their top researchers ship was seized by pirates.

A green alien with antennae and a insect like tail poses with the peace sign. Wearing a pink one piece and large chunky boots. She holds a miniature version of her space ship.

White text on a purple galaxy background
"Vividians are a wide spread species well known for making friends across the galaxy. Insectoid in nature, the Vividians possess a soft exoskeleton, a tail-like abdomen and a pair of prehensile tendrils hidden in their back. Juvenile Vividian's are shades of grey, leading some to speculate teen pranksters may have been the source of alien sightings on earth. While not extremely advanced, they are extremely socially intelligent leading to them being great additions to crews in leadership or other positions. Helpful and eager to learn, they have had a long interest in earth and it's media. they were the first to open up an embassy on earth. "

A blue slime girl posed in front of a faded wall of text with a slime mushroom beside her

-Mycellian-
The slime fungus alien! A bouncy joyful species well known for their welcoming ways and enticing cuisine. Their bodies are amorphous blobs shaped however they like with multiple harder stomach like organs that ooze through them akin to a lava lamp. While not as technologically advanced as others in the Commonwealth, they have travelled just as far. This is due to their production of a vitamin and protein rich jelly like substance easily digested by many species. Their planet is an oasis free of predators and home to gigantic vibrant mushrooms that the Mycelliae also tend to. These fungal growths are known for one thing, end of life care. Evolved to soften and guide ends of the creatures of the planet to produce infant Mycelliae. Through generations of commonwealth members choosing to pass on the planet, the Mycellian population has increased rapidly in intelligence.

Since my next project includes a fair bit of space stuff, I decided to do minis of all my original alien species for stickers and for fun. Here is our leading lady of the next project, Nonigh, a Gravoidian Leader with a bit of a mean streak and a reluctant host. #ocsky #art #aliens

An Alien leader poses in a chibi style beside one of her workers in front of a block of text that can be read on the next slide. The robotic alien is purple with hot pink accents.

Gravoidian.
Enforcers of the stars. A bio-mechanical species who have engineered their bodies to survive the cold reaches of space. Once an insectoid race related to the Vivoids, they now rely on mechanically built exoskeletons to survive. While most feature a round gravity defying suit earning them their name, their leaders occupy three legged horned suits and pilot ships ingrained with their very own DNA. Gravoids tend to work best in Gravoid majority crews however many thrive on multispecies ships when given a bit of grace for their stoney personality and a healthy amount of security work to do.
