No...! Really?! I'm shocked! Shocked I say!
Picture of a woman's torso and part of her hand holding a square paper hand fan emblazoned with a blue drawing of the White House with a flag atop it, which reads 'Project 2025 Presidential Transition Project Project2025.org' Above the picture a headline reads: 'A Trump appointee confirmed that Project 2025 was the plan all along'.

I see this image and I just want to know that one day each of these individuals will be held accountable for their crimes. I want to know that a jury of their peers (meaning, normal thinking people, not their cultish worshipers) will hear evidence against them and decide they are guilty.

This is the only flag I'll be waving today and until this nightmare ends. {If anyone knows who created the image, please let me know. I'd like to credit them.} #USflag #IndependenceDay
Black and white image of the American flag using fencing. The stars are a chainlink fence in the top left corner. The strips are barbed wire.

This is so not comforting.
Screen grab from The Guardian which reads: Trump in situation room with Hegseth and Caine amid Iran attack on US bases – report

Joint Chiefs Chair General Dan Caine and Secretary Pete Hegseth are in the Situation Room right now monitoring potential Iranian retaliation, per a senior White House official. Trump is currently in the room with them, CNBC reports.

Scenes from an evening stroll in Helsinki. Everything in this world seems heavy and hard. But, there is still beauty out there. And I'm embracing it.
A blazingly bright orange and purple sunset sky above the treetops reflected in the calm waters of a bay, separated at the horizon by a treeline both above and below the water line. A few clouds add more drama to this sky and its refection. A cluster of bright yellow and rather huge daffodils create what looks like a hill of daffodils in full bloom.

Image of my gorgeous grey and tan tabby cat's face with his little white beard and big beautiful green eyes staring straight at me. A less than thrilled judgemental expression on my lovely grey and tan tabby cat's face, with one ear very much indicating that I am inferior.

My husband and I were talking about Johnny Cash recently. This song from his last collection of covers is perhaps one of my favourites. But really, his entire discography is epic. We need more Johnny Cash's right now, y'all.
Image of Johnny Cash holding a guitar staring down the lens of a camera flipping the bird and looking as if he is about to scream 'fuck'. Johnny Cash at San Quentin in text at the top of the image.

I'm sorry: Do you know anything about Johnny Cash? No one made him do anything ever in his life. Except maybe June Carter Cash. But that man bowed to no one's whims.

Text reads Johnny Cash at San Quentin.

Buckle up if you have investments or a retirement fund. The current psycho in the White House is likely to tank them this week. Just a reminder, the Constitution is rather clear on how many terms a President may serve. #twentysecond
Twenty-Second Amendment

Section 1

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section 2

This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

This #InternationalWomensDay, my mood is best described as f*cking fuming. And that's entirely because of the patriarchy. My kitten's faceplant is rather perfect for today as well. Today, here's to us women. We deserve all the days really. Men, do better. And not just today. #women #feminist

My January 2025 Reads [7 books; all fictions] I'd recommend all of these books, although I honestly didn't enjoy 'What You Could Have Won'. #myyearinbooks2025 #BookSky
An image of 7 book covers, for Louise Penny's The Madness of Crowds (a drone shot of a snowy forest with a car driving through it), Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper (with a girl sitting on the floor in pjs), Stoner by Jon Williams (an image of a bespectacle man in a three piece suit with his hands in his pockets), Oldladyvoice by Elisa Victoria (pink wallpaper with flower prints, dense at the bottom of the cover), Mario Vargas Llosa's The Dream of the Celt (with ornate vines around the title and author with a colourful bird sitting atop the vine at the top of the book cover), The Girls by Emma Cline (which features a woman's face in bright red wearing sunglasses against a blue background), and What You Could Have Won by Rachel Genn (which looks like flourescent / neon lights writing out the title and the last O in the form of a pink frosted glazed donut).

My husband and I placed a few #putinarainbow stickers around our neighbourhood last summer / autumn. We discovered some additional #protestart joined it. We approve. #resist #tinyactsofresistance
White sticker on a red pole which lists love anarchy, love people, love nature, love humanity, love solidarity, love empathy, love participation, followed by a clean anarchy symbol capital A inside a circle positioned above a small circular image of Putin in the style of Warhol's image of Marilyn Monroe or the gay clown Putin image. In the background are apartment buildings and a square.

An black and white image of a vintage typewriter, entitled A Drabble, A 100-word story, 'Distance. The story is typed on a sheet of paper, still in the typewriter.

‘Distance’
She shuddered, recalling the last time they’d seen one another—their last meeting had been emotionally draining and friendship-destroying. They’d both walked away, deciding to move on, giving one another as much space and time as necessary, navigating awkward moments and avoiding any mention of the other within their social circles. They’d let things lie, licking their wounds to the point of rawness. That distance and time allowed their wounds-from-words heal, although their emotional scars remained. Upon meeting again, she mourned the friend she’d lost, but marvelled at the individuals they’d both become, and at the new friendship slowly blooming.
