This morning I came up with an idea for Roic AI to ask our users for ideas on how we can generate more revenue, offering $100 for that. One hour later, I set up a self-hosted Formbricks (pretty easy btw), and the survey is already in production.

Self-hosting Supabase is a joke. It's so unbearably slow with 10+ containers, from which I basically use just three: Postgres, Kong, Studio. It's time to move on to the old simple REST API + Postgres (with BetterAuth).

Spent a couple of days learning Swift Pros: - Apple development experience is top-notch, emulator is polished, there are a lot of built-in methods for almost everything - SwiftUI is awesome Cons: - You're a slave to Apple; if it doesn't like something in your app, you'll get blocked.

I had a lot of strange behavior when users subscribed. They would click on a subscription button, see the price, and leave. After connecting analytics and tracking, I realized that users often missed that they were on an annual preselected plan.

cursor is worth $20 just for its tremendous autocomplete no need to use agents for this, you have Claude code

The Nano-Banana model (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) is really good at preserving context (like my face).

I always slash prices in half before shutting down the project that didn't take off. Some sort of last resort. Never worked so far, but still a little ritual.

Decided to find new ways of monetizing Roic ai and came up with the idea of putting ads on my website But I don't like those ugly ads of Google AdSense. Moreover, the RPM (revenue per mille) is quite low. You can maybe get $2 per one thousand views.

integration of Roic AI with ChatGPT is live now. it took me a couple of days to deal with OpenAI oauth, but Claude Code was able to help me

I found that the cloud code runs super slow, and the solution was pretty simple. It created a 2.6-megabyte .claude.json file that was constantly read, causing it to pause for 15 seconds before making any action. After deleting it, everything runs as smoothly as the first time.

Almost finished integrating Roic AI with ChatGPT. It's super cool and speeds up the work by 10 times.

every time I start to think that vibe coding might be a new way of coding, I see this Claude Code output and begin to question it yes, it checks for the existence of a table on every API request 😂

by blocking AI bots from your website, you simply block the future citations from LLMs don't block your future

I stopped using chat/agent in Cursor completely but tab autocompletion with Claude code is an unbeatable productivity hack

Pro tip: install Playwright mcp in Claude Code, and let the chat see your browser. never need to copy html from a browser again command: claude mcp add playwright npx @playwright/mcp@latest;

day-0 So, zero day for today. We got a viral post. (okay, not so viral, like a meme with millions of views. But 36k from the target audience is good.) I don't have any website metrics because the post got traction before I was even able to set up the analytics.

We were supposed to release today, but everything went wrong. I posted a tweet about how we created the self-hosting NextJs platform using TanStack Start, and the post exploded.

I've tried Dia, the successor of Arc browser by the same company. In essence: - chat with tabs - chat with videos - combine multiple tabs to chat A team of L4 Google devs can recreate it in a month. Still don't see the edge.

I'm always amazed at how smart devs are in creating products and how shortsighted some of them can be in not seeing the value of spending $20 to save 5 hours of time.

99% of my use cases for Cursor

Vlad @vladcx.bsky.social · 10/05/2025
If you ever wondered why Gemini 2.5 is so dumb in Cursor, it’s because it became four times more expensive than 2.0 and 150 times more expensive for the reasoning version. And this is just for the flash version. Of course, Cursor needs to cut it down, otherwise, it won’t be profitable.

Vlad @vladcx.bsky.social · 07/05/2025
It's true, Cursor made the models worse with the introduction of MAX versions. Basically, they decreased the context span and limited the token output. I can bet they're barely profitable with $20/mo subscriptions and unlimited requests.

Why does no one talk about the absolute trash Supabase experience of not letting you write complex queries and leaving you to debug Postgres functions?
