Earlier this week, I had the honor of meeting with the Canadian Inter Parliamentary Group, which included members of Parliament & Canadian Consul General. We had a frank discussion on the nature of the relationship between the US & CA & discussed ways we can work together to improve relationships.

Today, we broke ground on the new 38th District Court in Eastpointe. I am so proud of the partnership with the city that resulted in $9 million in state funding to make this much needed project happen.

It was great to get out and walk in the Eastpointe Memorial Day parade. Shelly Cioppa was the grand marshal and she gave a wonderful speech at the ceremony — It was nice to see her recognized for her service to this country and her continued service to this community.

Today, the Senate unanimously passed our package of bills to create a Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This long overdue legislation would ensure consistent funding for our counties, cities, townships, and villages. I encourage my colleagues in the House to support this important legislation.
