Not to mention being able to partially prevent the flaw many stories have where new characters appear without build-up and destroys the pre-established elements and coesion. If the world and all elements and important points were already made, *then* i add the characters to act upon it...

Maybe the reason why i struggle with making OC's is that i'm trying to make the characters first, then i try to nake scenarios where they fit. Why so many people choose "realism" Scenarios? Because they're adding a character to a pre-established world. A world with many aspects and possibilities...
