Meta's content bot didn't like the fact that the villains of this animated series are nazis. Or maybe the fact that they are "Satanic Chaotic Evil Occultists".

YouTube issue: "Hate speech policy at 0:06". Episode 0x5A of the animated series "PC-lamerit", 6 seconds in: a room is full of skinheads behind a computer, and on the wall there's a symbol of inverted pentagram containing a nazi swastika.

Bock-dokumentin katsomisen sijaan selvittelin, mitä maanalaisia temppeleitä ylipäätään on olemassa. Samaan aikaan, kun bockilaiset kaivoivat Sipoossa esiin olematonta temppeliä, Italiassa Damanhur-yhteisö rakensi maan alle omaansa. Damanhur-gurun jutut eivät myöskään jää Bockista jälkeen. #iorbock

#talous #degrowth

The increasing distaste for AI slop will hopefully also increase the distaste for human slop. Down with everything that sounds or looks great on the surface while being total bullshit on the inside.

“The demise of appropriate technology as a living social movement can be dated almost to the hour and minute. It occurred early in the evening of Tuesday, November 4, 1980, when it became clear that Ronald Reagan had been elected President of the United States.” - Langdon Winner

I had the pleasure of being invited on one of my favourite podcasts, @manymindspod.bsky.social, a week ago. We talked about string theory. No, not the physics—but knots and string figures. Humans have a long history with string, but it’s a thoroughly understudied topic. 🎧🎙️🪢: manyminds.libsyn.com

2010s was a decade when Huxley's "Brave New World" felt more relevant than Orwell's "1984". Now it looks like "1984" has become the more relevant one once again.

Pixel art from a 1530 book of embroidery patterns, proving that dragons have been popular in the artform for a very long time. I personally find the more "folkish" patterns more interesting because of their algorithmic geometricity, but fantasy themes can be fun too.

Occasionally, it confuses me when I see an American use Watts as a measurement unit for power, just like normal people. "Shouldn't they be using, like, horsepowers or something?"

This is astonishing - it’s #Elite on the VIC 20! Aleksi Eeben has taken the #Commodore64 source and has ported it to the C64’s predecessor. It’s looking pretty amazing! Huge kudos to Aleksi, this is a really impressive feat. 🫡 #retrogaming #retrocomputing #vic20 #c64 youtu.be/eR7df9rrbyQ?...

And yes, I even made a demo in the summer. Haven't really made demos in this decade, blame the Covid years. Made with the tools I originally made for VIC-20 demos, so it's basically just another PWP VIC-20 demo with the same esthetic and political preferences, just for the C-64 this time. #demoscene

Been here since the invite-only days but haven't really even logged in since. Maybe it's a good time to increase activity. Huge social media migrations are always fun to witness.
