These aren't perfect, but I had fun trying some focus stacking with macro photography. Hoping to have more opportunities to practice this. #fungi #macro #photography #nikon

A tiny mushroom growing from a log. I used artificial lighting to illuminate the mushroom and create highlights in the background.

Three mushrooms illuminated by side lighting, white light from the left and amber light from the right.

Something a little different today. I had the opportunity to join a "reflections" themed photo shoot at MODE Photography Festival in Minneapolis. Pictured is Mandy Wright, a photographer herself. I like how this one turned out.

Well, I'm home now. A huge snowstorm ripped through the BWCA, covering my site and all surrounding area in a foot of wet heavy snow. It buried and soaked any potential firewood. I had to evac. Was still very pretty.

Humblebrag moment. I meticulously measured all of the photo gear I wanted to bring on this trip as well as potential future trips. I found exactly one case that seemed to fit the bill. It arrived today, and, well... I did pretty dang good at measuring.

Photo gear in a hard case. Snug as a bug in a rug.
