Her first ever defeat was probably at the hands of her mother while they were sparring. You see, her mother wanted her (at the time) son to lead the Allagan armies in conquest. That first sparring match, her mother was cruel and unrelenting. It darkened Roxanne's heart. Pain is an awful teacher.
