Pope Francis was 88 and obviously in poor health. Religious leaders, presidents, prime ministers, monarchs should all be retired at 70 - at the latest. We will give King Charles III a few more years, he had to wait 70 years to get the job.

A woman went to prison for calling for immigrants to be burned alive in their accommodation. I agree with the prison sentence and was horrified by her posts. I expect the same sentence to be issued to anyone calling for a person to be burned alive. I'm horrified by those who say nothing.

40 years ago today, I reported to RAF Swinderby for 6 weeks of basic training - marching, cleaning, ironing, running around in combats and making bedpacks! By the time we finished, I weighed about 90 pounds - I still had a chubby little face though. 40 years. Where did the time go?

Have managed to hurt my back. Trying Deep Heat ointment. It smells like germolene and TCP combined! It's like a little trip to the"medicine cabinet" in my childhood home. Just needs milk of magnesium, Beecham's powders and a few totally useless plasters.

Trump never had a peace plan for Ukraine. He had a plan for Ukraine's surrender, with a colonial resource grab. As Zelenskyy rightly refused it, or to cooperate in Trump's TV spectacular, the US has now cut Ukraine off. That's what blackmail looks like. That's what the world is up against.
