For #BlueBrewBooks currently reading Ellis Peters’ Death to the Landlords. Peters is best known for her Brother Cadfael mysteries, which are great! This book I’m reading is the 11th book in her Felse series. She also wrote historical fiction under her real name of Edith Pargeter. See alt. 💙📚⚡️⏳

I’m currently reading Death to the Landlords, pictured with a bookmark. It’s the 11th book of her Felse series. It took me a couple of tries to get into her Felse books, but I’m glad I tried again. They are mysteries set at the same time the books were written 1950s - 1970s.

Peters is probably best known for her Brother Cadfael mysteries, which are great reads! Once I started them, I read them all in about 2 years. Pictured here is the first Cadfael book, A Morbid Taste for Bones.

Finally, this author wrote historical fiction under her real name of Edith Pargeter. Pictured here is A Bloody Field by Shrewsbury. Love her historical fiction too! They are usually set in the 11th - 14th centuries. Shrewsbury is set during 1399 - 1413, and is about Henry of Bolingbroke overthrowing his cousin King Richard II, to take the throne as King Henry IV. Highly recommended Pargeter’s Welsh Princes quartet, the first one is called Sunrise in the West.

I am a Peters/Pargeter completist. Working on reading them all 😀

A story in three acts. Story begins when I put four piles of seeds out. Drama and photos from last night 🦝🦝🦝 #raccoons

Two raccoons eating seeds and nuts, in the backyard, at night. Floodlight is on, so we can see them. Notice which rocks the raccoons are eating from.

A third raccoon has come by, and the original two raccoons have finished their first piles and now are eating off second piles. The third raccoon looks sad and forlorn staring at a rock that has been eaten from already.

The third raccoon now stealing from the smaller raccoon’s rock, that has seeds and nuts. The biggest raccoon, we call him Snuffy, eats unconcerned and unbothered by its frenemy’s plight.

Epilogue: I did take more seeds and nuts out.

A couple of #Deer photos to share. The first one is from yesterday evening, #Fawns Danny and Desi were the early birds for seeds. Please admire their little nubby antlers! And the second one features a shy doe and her female fawn (spots faded, no baby antlers). Name suggestions?

Two shy female deer. The mom is the one walking away from the camera, while her fawn is facing the camera with her head up. When they are side by side the adult doe is noticeably bigger than her fawn. The fawn has lost all her spots, and does not have antler nubs, so we know she is female. We have seen this pair come by for a few weeks now, but they are so skittish when I try to take photos. This is the best pic out of many attempts.
