I used the second track, “Don’t Call Me Baby” as my anchor, I felt like it was the best mixed track out of the bunch so I had to work to get the other tracks in the same ballpark. Be on the lookout for this one!

But on a more serious note, this was a nice challenge. These mixes were done at different times so consistency, frequency rebalancing and leveling was the focus.

Working on dense mixes have their set of challenges, but on the opposite end of the spectrum, a solo instrument can have its own set of challenges where if you mess up, you can really ruin a good recording. I'd love to work with more soloists. If this is you, let's talk!

A little goes a long way. This classical guitar track by Guillaume Blache needed a little bit of reverb to sweeten it up. I used the plate setting on the Relab Development ApS LX480. It really did the trick, subtle enough to not overwhelm the instrument, but you feel it once you bypass the effect.

Americanoise calls for American EQ I've always approached harsh noise as guitars and the 550L lends itself nicely to this material. This track by Scald Hymn had some information in the 700hz region that I wanted to highlight. I love the color I was able to add here.
