3,000 PB&J sandwiches, now on their way to feed those in need throughout St. Louis. Proud to show up for those in our community who need us most, and do our small part to keep MLK Jr.’s legacy of service alive.

This campaign is about showing up for our community. From town halls to the legislature, I’m here to listen, work for, and represent you. Thank you to all who made their voices heard at our first event-the energy we’ve felt has truly been overwhelming. You showed up for us, we’ll show up for you!

We deserve good public schools and earned sick leave, not utility rate hikes or grocery taxes. The agenda Republicans unveiled today is the wrong path for every Missourian.

Matt Vitale challenges Brad Christ for Missouri's 96th District

CRESTWOOD, MO - Today, Matt Vitale announced his candidacy for Missouri's 96th State House District, launching a Democratic challenge to Republican incumbent Brad Christ and offering voters a future focused on accountability and delivering results for our community.

"My friends and neighbors feel neglected by a representative who isn't showing up for us," Vitale said. "While our costs for housing, childcare, and utilities have continued to rise, the Republican supermajority has instead been focused on undermining public education and overturning the earned sick leave and the reproductive rights we voted for in 2024."

Vitale, a proud public school dad, roots his campaign in community service. Born and raised in South St. Louis County, he started his career at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where he helped veterans with vision loss learn the skills they needed to live independently.
Building a career around accessibility and civil rights enforcement, he trained attorneys on how to investigate digital access complaints in schools and universities nationwide as the Lead Accessibility Specialist for the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights.
He learned how to hold institutions accountable, enforce fairness at the highest levels of government, and make systems work for the families who depend on them.

"Families like ours live here for the school district," Vitale said, "For us, public education isn't a talking point. Missourians rely on a comprehensive public school system that meets the needs of every child, and we need a representative we can count on to do the work to ensure our schools are safe, strong, and well-funded."
