Process for masking, because I think it looks cool! In order: 1. Details around the edges 2. Finer inner details 3. Rest of the lineart 4. Background After that all thst remains is painting, removing the tape, and filling the background; all of that combined being faster than the masking itself 🫠

Masking of a stylized painting, stage 1:
Masking tape isnplaced all around the canvas to defind the inner frame. Parts of the character that are meant to go out of frame are cut out of those bands, and smaller pieces of tape cover triangular dents on shapes that go along the frame.

Fine bands of masking tape are placed to cover the lines thst define the character's head (which is where most of the details are, hence why it is done first)

The rest of the lineart is covered with masking tape as well, using longer, less detailed lines for secondary features (here the body)

Whatnwill be the background is blocked out with larges bands of masking tape. At this point, the canvas is ready for painting!

Yet another batch of #Gdakon paintings~ (3/5) This time I fell in love with a palette: some dark, desaturated green, and the brightest orange/yellow I could muster. And a blue pointy crit that didn't quite fit in the other batches :3 #furryart

Angstrom, a gremlin (as in the species from Spiral Knight, not the general idea of a gremlin, which actually does apply to him too). He is striking an "evil laugh" pose: slightly leaning backwards, hands raised at waist height, chin up.

Notable features he harbors are: an oversized long jacket floating in the wind (even though there is none), a robotic glove (it is probably evil), and a wide grin showing all his pointy teeth (he got lots of 'em).

The original colors of the character are not observed, and are instead replaced with a cyan camaïeu, with contrasting touches of electric yellow, reminiscing of Angstrom's electricity affinity.
The background is a flat, deep magenta, with a white halftone pattern contouring the character.

TBH I'm overselling it when I say I "fixed my sleep schedule". The CPAP helps making the sleep I get actually useful. But getting enough sleep in the first place is thanks to other life stuff, like a cat that needs feeding in the morning, going to bed earlier (still wip), doing exercise, etc.

And my secret for the sleep schedule is mainly being diagnosed with sleep apnea severe enough to warrant having a CPAP. 💪 And caffeine for bad days. Lotsa caffeine.
