Oh, my bad, it's actually worse than that, they announced the Hardware in NOVEMBER. Like, if they need to delay it to 2027, that's fine, but for the love of god at least talk to us about it... Okay. Rant over.

010

VirtualRook @virtualrook.com · 21/04/2026

RANT: its honestly insane we still haven't gotten news from them, the Steam Hardware announcement was in December. They said they would be giving us updates along the way to release. We got ONE news update about it in February..... and now we are inching closer to halfway through the year.....

So I have been trying to level up my coding skills, and I decided to get the @gdquest.bsky.social 3D games lessons, and I have learned so much! Anyway, I just got through the chapter that teaches you how to make state machines from code (so hard) and I wanted to show off my 3 little enemies 🙂

VirtualRook @virtualrook.com · 24/03/2026

OH! Newest Steam VR update had a very interesting set of strings. Maybe we are getting Color pass through after all on the steam Frame?!? #vr #steam #Frame #XR

code from Steam that has the lines "settings_camera_colorDynamicResolition": "Dynamic Resolution (gaze-based)", "settings_camera_colorDynamicResolition_desc": "automatically adjust color camera streaming resolution based on gaze"

I found a very liminal space yesterday and I'm proud of it.

A carpeted metal staircase that looks like it was in a parking garage at some point but is now in more of a office setting, but the carpeted stairs still have strange carpeted platforms behind them and a concrete....I don't know, like 2x4 that just kind of is under the stairs? It upsets me greatly....

Day 2 of working on my VR Puzzle Horror game in godot, some nice low rez trees, a bit of terrain work and fog really goes a long way! #thistledown #vr #godot #gamedev

A screenshot of a game with a cobblestone path going through a grassy path that weaves through large trees, a blanket of fog sits across the scene.

Great things start from humble beginnings (I hope) I know my gray boxes tend to have more texture than they should, but it helps my artist brain, so sue me ;P will be updating more soon #vr #godot #thistledown #gamedev #puzzles #horror

A largo looming gated stone wall looms over a red box that represents the player, green grass lies on the ground, a VR character controller hangs out next to the human shaped red box. They are friends.
