Are you advocating for more expensive highs? Like acquiring rare gemstones?

Idyllic! I liked this book, too! It’s a little sad but I think worth the read.

Reminded of being shown a low-budget Christian futurist movie during an evening mid-week youth group and being completely horrified of The End Days and the coming apocalypse. I remember being anxious for days after watching it.

Interesting! It’s usually the other way around - people experiencing seasonal depression in the winter months! Hope you’re having a better week, Friend!

I just started reading David Graeber and David Wengrow’s “The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity” and I literally busted out laughing when I read this line about why Oscar Wilde was an advocate of socialism. (Thanks to @onlydans.bsky.social and @aussie-himbo.bsky.social for the book!)

This is who you’re referring to when you say that.
A newborn baby being cradled in their mother’s arms shortly after being born.

Is it pronounced the way that my brain wants me to say it when I read it? Or the way that, say, a French person would say it?

In my ongoing effort to digitize old media and eliminate redundancy, I bought a little cable off Amazon that transmits audio content from a microcasette player to my laptop. It seems that back in 1983, my father would record conversations with my older brother as they would stare at me in my crib.

So it turns out that everyone who completed the challenge received a perfect Mewtwo… still! A very cool reward nonetheless!

Whaaat? This is the first perfect pokémon that I’ve ever captured in Pokémon GO that’s actually decent! 😦🥹

Update: the first of the three Zip disks contained .wav audio files of Adam Sandler comedy circa 1993~1996. 🤦‍♂️

Sort of? This was my older brother’s ticket stub, tossed inside of a brown paper grocery bag filled with his stuff that I found in my parents’ old house before it was sold.

It would have cost you $8.00 to see Jurassic Park 3 in a movie theater when it was released in July 2001.

Just had a very weird thing happen. I opened my MacBook only to discover that the password I’ve used since getting it in 2020 wasn’t authenticating. I needed to use an Apple Recovery Code from my iPhone in order to reset the laptop’s password! Why did it do this? 😳😰

All for a measly three random Iomega Zip disks I found in my parents' house when we were moving them out a few years back. I seriously just want to secure all of these disparate data storage media and then remove them from my life forever. Like, why are there still 3.5" floppies lying around??
000
Justin @virtualjustin.bsky.social · 29/07/2026
It's either a terrible, elaborate scam or I just paid $30 for an external Iomega Zip drive. Lesson of the day: make sure you don't archive data on formats that could very easily become obsolete in 10~15 years! Quite annoyed by the number of 3.5" floppy disks, Zip disks, & CDs that I've encountered.
