When you mix them up, you get "passive-aggressive events" — sending an event while secretly expecting a specific downstream reaction. You end up with tight coupling masquerading as event-driven design.

The difference is simple on paper: 🔹 Command: Tells a service what to do ("Wash the dishes"). 🔹 Event: Simply announces what happened ("Dishes are done").
