Well, I have a torn retina. The doc zapped it over 150 times with a laser to (hopefully) prevent a total detachment. He called it a "severe tear", and glad that I came in as soon as I had symptoms. Scary stuff.

A new one Just got two calls telling me that they were going to take care of getting me paid for a car accident from the past two years. They couldn't provide me with the date of the crash or the model of car involved. Scammers. Sheesh.

There was lots of traffic on I-10 heading back from Baytown this afternoon, so Waze rerouted me to take the ferry. I haven't done this in close to 20 years. That's the Sam Jacinto Monument, which is the site of where Santa Ana's army was defeated.

I was listening on the radio to the White House ceremony just now. I don't know which service band was playing, but that was one of the most unmusical and lackluster performances I could imagine from a professional band of the caliber that our service organizations have. Just saying.
