I don't know what would fix the world, but a well-written show about David Lee Roth's time as an EMT would be a healing experience for me and for many, I am convinced.
From Wikipedia: "Roth maintains residences in Los Angeles, New York City and Tokyo.[34] In 2004, he trained as a state-licensed emergency medical technician in New York.[57] In 2012 he said, "I probably have over 200 9-1-1 calls on my ticket in the last six years alone. I live a very different life away from music."[58]

Near-total Texas coverage by feral hogs. What's going on in the one hog-free stronghold? Catamount? Werewolves with a bbq pit?
Where can wild hogs be found in Texas? According to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension website, data from 2022 indicates that wild hogs have established populations in 253 of the 254 Texas counties.

Same, but ditto any degree, advanced study, or experience in any field. Let's not sully every goddamn thing with a *little* knowledge.
A picture of two cakes in a "Nailed it!" meme style - one with three tiers, a subtle turquoise hue, very smooth icing with a stencil design set off by taupe bows and white flowers, made professionally, and the other, an attempt at the same cake, made by a person who did their own research but lacked the advanced training: covered in a garish Frankenstein turquoise colored melting icing, collapsing squashed layers, stuck on black bows and bright yellow and pink flowers marooned on top, clinging for dear life. A visual illustration of, "How hard could it be?"

Speaking of soup, make this, please. It came from the Bad Place, and the source is lost to time. But you won't regret it. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Cream of Red Pepper, Cilantro and Chili Soup
1 tbsp. oil
½ Onion -chopped
2 cloves of garlic - chopped
2 sticks of celery -chopped
3 Red peppers - deseeded and chopped
¼ cup of wine (any kind will do)
1 tsp of chili sauce or sriracha (or 1/8 tsp of pepper))
1 tbsp. cilantro stalks. salt
1 bay leaf
4 cups of chicken stock (cubes or concentrate is fine)
1 cup cream
½ lemon
1 tsp sugar
In a large pot add oil, cook the garlic, onion, celery and red pepper on medium heat until they go a bit soft. Chuck in the wine, then add the chili paste and bay leaf. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Pour in half the stock and bring the pot to a boil, then lower the heat to a gentle boil, cover and let it go until you can crush the red pepper with the back of a spoon. How long this takes is going to depend on how finely you've chopped your veggies.
Remove bay leaf (very important) and take the pot off the heat. Using a stick blender in the pot itself whiz the soup until all the little bits are smooth. Add the rest of the stock and cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
The salt, lime and sugar may not be necessary. At this point, taste the mixture. Add salt if needed (stock cubes tend to be salty already). You are looking for a nice sweet, hot and tangy combination. So adjust by adding lemon/lime juice and/or sugar to taste Add a little more chili paste if you want it spicier. But do not reboil the soup once you've added the citrus juice as it will kill the freshness of the flavor.

Found some John Donne with my chocolate. Thanks, Chocolove!
Chocolove Cherries & Almonds in Dark Chocolate outer labelPart of a John Donne poem from Elegy XVI: The Expostulation:
Now have I cursed, let us our love revive;
In me the flame was never more alive.
I could begin again to court and praise,
And in that pleasure lengthen the short days
Of my life's lease ; like painters that do take Delight, not in made work, but whiles they make.
I could renew those times, when first I saw
Love in your eyes, that gave my tongue the law
To like what you liked ; and at masks and plays
Commend the self-same actors, the same ways ;
Ask how you did, and often with intent
Of being officious, be impertinent ;
All which were such soft pastimes, as in these
Love was as subtly catch'd as a disease.
But being got, it is a treasure sweet,
Which to defend is harder than to get ;
And ought not be profaned, on either part,
For though 'tis got by chance, 'tis kept by art.

GASH FAT
An old timey ad with a bunny sitting atop a 7-Up logo describing how to baste an Easter ham: Gash fat on a 1 1/2 inch center slice of ham. Put in a baking dish and pour 1/2 cup 7-Up over ham. Bake in a slow oven (325°) for 1 1/2 hours. Baste with additional 7-Up if necessary. An illustration of a piping hot gashed 7-Upped ham floats above the recipe.
