Why does she have wings on her head like that... the design is so good except for the wings 😭
New mega dragonite form with dragonair-like features and giant wings on its head

Been awhile since I shared a poem
A Poem:

Cosmology

Is this tightness in my chest, this pressure in my skull,
these salty tears irritating my cheeks, this planet stuck
in my throat leaping to escape, are these the fuel stars burn?

I sometimes see an image in my mind, a beautiful starscape
silent as the night, the rapid beating of my heart finally
slowed, my guilt absolved, my needs met in perpetuity.

I can see stars when I close my eyes.
I can feel their heat on my skin.

I see the stars painted across a canvas,
beautiful and sparkling, but in my heart I feel the bitter
cold of the vacuum in between; the breathless silence
that these images contain.

but just like the stars,
the more I burn
the smaller,
frailer, I
become;

until I burn brightly,
or burn up.

my mind must be stars
for it to create life like it does,
to see the soul in every image,
to hear the heartbeat in every sound.

My mind is the stars and the space in between.
My mind is the moon on a glowing nightscape.
My mind is the canvas and the stars are my paints.

I see the stars, this image in my mind–
a beautiful painting. A terrifying reality.
A piece of art that must never be life:

a new canvas, paints squeezed out
by a gun, still smoking–
stars splattered across the bathroom wall.

For the first time in a while, I feel really good about the way I look today 😊
Selfie of me, Violet! I'm wearing a little bit of makeup and smiling slightly, and my hair is curly and purple. Mirror picture of me, Violet! I'm wearing a little bit of makeup and smiling slightly, and my hair is curly and purple. I'm looking up (because I was looking myself in the eye in the mirror, rather than at the camera.)Selfie of me, Violet! I'm wearing a little bit of makeup and smiling slightly, and my hair is curly and purple.

To anyone who reads this, you need to read Bitter by Akwaeke Emezi. This is one of the most wonderful, powerful books I've ever read. Genuinely so incredible.
The cover of the book Bitter, by Akwaeke Emezi. It depicts the character Bitter, sitting with a paint brush in her left hand, with a painted background behind her.

Poem-A-Day #9! This poem is titled "Your Soul is a Star"
your soul is a star
provides light
life
sustenance
fueled by universal law
it exists because it should

your soul is a star
a burning ball that rages
lasts lifetimes
warms everyone it touches

your soul is a star
enjoyed by all
without a thought
taken for granted

your soul is a star
some choose to study it
learn about it
care about the warmth it provides
understand how it works
and why it burns so bright

your soul is a star
a ball of gas,
hot air a spark away
from ignition
in defiance of all things
a star never fades
but bursts and burns brighter
until it simply can't burn
any longer

your soul is a star
a single light in an infinite sky
but when stars come together
they make stories, myths, legends
bears and chariots
belts and quivers
a single star can only shine so bright
but bound together, our stars become
beautiful constellations
the legends, myths, stories
of our lives

Poem-A-Day #8! This one is titled "Grime" #Poem #Poetry #PoemADay
The first part to a poem titled "Grime"

11:00 AM. I stir awake. The tag on my blanket
brushes the side of my face.
My sleep, restless.
My brain, the same.

brushing the side of my face
I drop myself into my computer chair
my sleep, restless
I search for productivity

I dropped myself into my computer chair
my hands placed on the keyboard
I searched for productivity
but instead found the muck and grime that coats my key of G.

my hands fixed to the keyboard
 I should clean that
I search for productivity
why can’t I clean that?

I should clean that
I stare at it, the key of G
why can’t I clean that?
my key to greatness and glory.
the second part of the poem "Grime"

I stare at it, my key of G
moments pass, lost to eternity
my key to greatness and glory
and it stares back. Paralyzed.

moments pass, lost to eternity
restless, I yearn for sleep
and it yearns back. Paralyzed.
11:23 AM. I drag myself to sleep, the blanket a tag for the grime on my soul.

Poem-A-Day #7 This poem is titled "Trickle Down Economics" #Poetry #Poem #PoemADay
A Poem titled "Trickle Down Economics"

heat made manifest flickers–
charred edges of life carved into
capsules of fuel crumble underneath

specks of violet flee their
cobblestone containment, eager
for freedom; unaware that their fuel will
deplete long before their escape completes

their mutilated neighbors circle the
roaring carcass, rather than ignite,
their bodies reduced to stools for those
who have claimed this world as their own

more of their brothers and sisters piled
on, fuel for the grueling spectacle
the only lives spared are those
so sodden they refuse the light

the bodies, meant to bring life, love,
nourishment–burned out, used to cook
treats of nothing, create entertainment
for nobody, heat those who hold cold
so tightly inside, until it all

smolders
douses
dies

Poem-A-Day #6! This poem is titled "Moving Forward" #Poetry #Poem #PoemADay
A Poem titled: "Moving Forward"

I’m trapped in nowhere virginia
working at jesse’s bar
got fired from the bank three months ago
everybody heard about it

can’t get another job,
so I work for pennies
as people give looks, like I
shot their babes or stole
food from st. mary’s

graduated seventh in my class
out of fifteen students
four of which were on heroin
and one who really liked birds

this town has 300 people, all of ‘em have seen my face
and the world’s a really big place for me to feel stuck
in this mile wide town, when I could just drive an hour
and be somewhere else where nobody knows me or who I am

but actually I can’t
because the world’s a really big place
and I’d be leaving it all behind

Poem-A-Day #5! This poem is titled "Parasomnia" #Poetry #Poem #PoemADay
A poem titled "Parasomnia"

Bugs freak me out
not in a traditional sense
I’m content to let the spider sit in the corner
cohabitating with my eight-legged homie

but sometimes, bugs infest my dreams
I dream about a centipede
or a hoard of wasps

and I wake up,
shaken and sweaty
like a character
in a bad romantic comedy

I have this disconnect
where I don’t care about bugs
but somewhere,
I must care
at least a little

I feel this way about gender

I don’t care about pronouns
or even names, really

except when I do

when someone tells me
you’re a really nice guy
when my sister laughs,
should I call you ‘she’?
when my mom calls me
son

gender is a moth I’ve pulled apart
little twitching appendages
that were once scary
and are now useless

gender is a moth I’ve pulled apart
I’ve killed it, once, twice, seven times
and still it appears
wrenching me from sleep

gender is a moth I’ve pulled apart
its wings splayed,
an inkblot test
that only shows
    other

Poem-A-Day 4! This poem is titled "Conventions".
A poem titled "Conventions"

This work, a sonnet, so
intently it rhymes
it goes to and from
with merely fourteen lines.

a graceful structure in dreary times
and the shared sounds are nice, I guess-
but it's really hard to create these rhymes:
I suppose I'll have to try my best.

But what's the point, besides some rest,
that the words rhyme, here, in this?
it all feels like one big silly test-
so if you expect rhyme, here it is:

Five Guys
Burgers and Fries

Poem-a-Day Day 2! This is a piece I wrote titled "You Can Lead a Horse to Fire" #poem #poetry #PoemADay
A poem titled "You Can Lead a Horse to Fire"

we let our senses be smothered
blinders fit snugly to our faces
cut off from the horrors
that make up our lives

we live life in the margins of
unread newspaper articles
pages stained in the blood of those
just outside our narrowed peripheral

serenity in the tv static that
forms a barrier between us
and all that we refuse to see--
for if we did, we would surely spook

we wake each morning, put on our
blinders with our socks and shoes
the smooth, black plastic our only
protection from the pillars of
flame that we live our lives in between

serenity afforded to us by years
of covering the burns that cover our souls
we have become arsonists of self. We didn't start
the fire, but we have surely kept it lit

I want do a poem-a-day thing where I post a poem every day, so I might as well start today! Here's a poem I wrote titled Melancholy. #poem #poetry #PoemADay
A poem in the shape of a dictionary entry for the word Melancholy. The beginning is the same as the regular definition of Melancholy, however after the first definition the poem begins as descriptive images that fit the word Melancholy.

b. raindrops on a smudged window pane rolling down your cheeks
c. The steady drip, drip, drip of a pipe that worked too hard for too long
d. Your backpack, straps torn, patiently awaiting your embrace
e. A bench on a country road, beside a bus route that no longer runs
f. Your dad's old coffee mug, missing a cover, missing an owner
g. Chairs upside down on the dining room table, just before dinner time
h. The brand new book that's lived the last three years on your shelf
i. The last apple in the basket, unbruised, all alone
j. Finding just one of the hoop earrings you wore on your wedding day
k. Folded up boxes in your bedroom closet that have been there for months
l. The words of a song you used to love, but no longer remember
m. The backside of the photograph you wish you never took

I wanted to share some poetry I've been working on, let me know what y'all think! ^.^ This ones called "I always thought you were made of moonlight" #poetry
A poem against a black background:

Title: I always thought you were made of moonlight

reflection
a transformative whole
part of another
but still you

an ephemeral moment
shrouded in mysticism
i worried that by the end of the night
you'd be gone

artifice distracts
detracts from your light
replaced with sleepless nights
and burnt-in TV screens

the night air is always cooler
when you're around
a restorative soul
perfection
