The cast is good overall and I'm looking forward to seeing Aaron Pierre's John Stewart in S2 and MoT, but this show is very much carried by Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan.

Lanterns A very good show for most of it's run, but feels a bit underwhelming crossing the finish line. Writing's been excellent but some of the stuff in the finale just doesn't land with me. Hoping season 2 gets a bit more budget to work with for the Lantern powers too.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve Project ACES gets a normal dev cycle and they put out something incredible. The scale of missions has been bumped up from 7, and while not everything in the story hit for me, there were moments that got me. Really enjoyed having a full squad again too. Fantastic game.

I kinda don't want to do part 2 three more times, but skipping it makes my Cai team pale in comparison to my Leda team in terms of levels. I also don't get the events in the Memories which I get but still

Game Changer Season 8 Stronger first half, much weaker second half of the season. Overall still pretty good.

Really want to make Dante a dedicated swordswoman in Fortune's Weave but she's just too good as a mage. Gotta compromise and just hand her a Levin Sword

Got jump-scared by Shez Fire Emblem speaking Tagalog in this one, it's great.

The Lovers Haven't been following the Kickstarter so I wasn't expecting Filipino siren yuri to pop up on my feed. A bit of a tonal shift halfway and plot's restricted by the short runtime, but it's easily worth the watch. Animation and art are great and I'm interested in what this studio does next

Crazy how Belobog still remains the only arc with no major issues. I don't agree with all the Hoyo slander going around the past week or so, but I'm not in a particular mood to defend them after this MSQ.

VioletBlade @violetblade.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Honkai Star Rail 4.5 To Roll the Stars in Astropolis The Robin and Adventurine quest is fun, and the racing event was nice. The MSQ was pretty shit though. Completely kills the momentum from the last patch. I like Planarcadia more than most probably, but my investment in the story dropped hard.

Persona 4 Revival got you rizzin' up the mind but not rizzin' up Yosuke

010

VioletBlade @violetblade.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Just killing the tension with going to a resort in the middle of everything going on in Planarcadia is bad enough, but then you show me Skott and I just skip the cutscene

000

VioletBlade @violetblade.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

It's very unfortunate how after I was all in the last Star Rail patch, 30 minutes into the new one and I'm already over it.

I'd be okay with Witch from Mercury missing out on the next SRW, but I'd like it to be in so I can use full power Calibarn for more than 2 missions.

020

VioletBlade @violetblade.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

Super Robot Wars Y DLC It's fine. I haven't really seen the DLC series other than Witch S2 and the Hi-Nu/Nightingale so I wasn't too interested in any of the new units (I've seen E7 but not Hi-Evolution). I liked the Witch from Mercury parts though.

Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (anime) Great vibes. Watched the dub and they did all of the music really well. The ending is too much "read the manga" unfortunately but overall the show is solid.

Your Name (10th Anniversary Re-release) Getting to watch this in a theater (again) in 4k was great, even with Spidey and the Odyssey blasting next door. It's still a beautiful film, and though I've listened to this soundtrack so many times, tracks like Katawaredoki can still bring me to tears.

Sylvain ok, wish they did more to differentiate him from basic great knight/his TS look Azura decent, I see the mix they're trying, maybe go further w/ not primarily using white Sigurd I like, gives off an aspiring knight deal Tsubasa lmaoo Giving both 1st school uniforms is hilarious, I respect it

Still thinking about this one. The way this show portrays grief, feeling lost in what you want to do or what your identity is, friendship and support systems, trying to fit within societal expectations, it's all just done so well. Absolutely jumping into the manga.
